Yeah I love using my rack for all that good stuff. Especially shoulder presses. Its crazy how excited we get over our equipment. lol This is what we do though. Some folks like to paint or build ships in bottles, we choose to make our bodies hurt the next day and we love it<3

hahaa, i have no patience for putting any damn ship together in a bottle, unless i drank the booze first then would probably just throw all the pieces into the empty bottle and shake it up,, hurricane!!!! lol..


ok so decided on training chest today,, first time bench pressing with straight bar in about 7 years, so not expecting to much, my max was only 305lb before i left the gym so not really my strong point, but it should feel a bit differently then dumbbells......

oh and i have this damn CCR tune stuck in my head all damn day long ya know the who`ll stop the rain,, la la laaa ... here maybe i can pass it off to you guys........

Flat Bench Press....
1x 135lb x10.... damn my rear delts are sooo tight,,,
1x 185lb x8 .... felt much better
1x 225lb x8....not bad for a old timer huh.. lol.... lets see what i can move
1x 255lb x5... well alright,, one more gotta have my wife spot me next set
1x 270lb x3... got 2 on my own no bouncing strict form, last rep wife helped on, i`m really happy with 270lb, here i was thinking yea 225lb was going to bury me,, sweeeeeeeet...

Incline Bench press
1x 130lb x8... these suck!! my rear rotator cuff is screaming,, not good injured it years ago and this movement hurts like hell..
1x 180lb x5 ok scrapping these, i`m gonna end up blowing out my rotator again...

flat Dumbbell flys super set with incline dumbbell presses
1x 45`s x10>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 70`s x8... better on the rear rotator
1x 50`s x10>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 80`s x8
1x 50`s x10>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 80`s x6... rutt roe reorge getting fatigued..... one more set....

Flat bench 1 Dumbbell pullover/ super set with push-ups to failure

so overall great workout, not that 270lbs on flat bench is a world record or anything, but i`m happy with it FOR NOW!! lol..

nice bench, 270lbs for 3 is a lot more than most ppl can do, especially others close to our age!!! your bench should make some good jumps here early on once your body starts getting use to the movement again, i know when i stop doing flat bb bench, which unless i am going for a pb i never do, it increases backup pretty quickly when i start doing it again. bet you get about 10 to 15lbs in the first few weeks easy.

yea i was figuring that all my dumbbell sets helped keep my bar bench in decent stats, was never much of a fan of bench presses with the bar, always seemed to tweak my rear delt, but dumbbells dont ,,

ahh thanks mike!! been at work last couple of days, tomorrow i plan to train legs, or thats the plan,, shall be at work for the better part of the day, so depending on when i get home i may workout tonight, but probably not legs tonight, maybe bis and tris or sumtin like that..

The mike40+ road to 325lb bench! The log ends when you get there! And I know you can bc you just did 270 with out benching in quite a while, Its an attractive title, okay maybe not. Just post a pic of you in your Tarzan costume, That'll do it!
