I know the difference between them. Chins use biceps as a secondary muscle, similar to how rear delts are used in pull ups as a secondary muscle.

lol Ive been doing chin/pullups for 15yrs and now i feel like i need to know what they do all of the sudden
I alternate between the two. That way you switch it up and use two good exercises instead of one constantly.

Lol that's a pretty good pick up line. I put up a PB 180 for 9 so I think it looked pretty good haha.

You prove a very good point. Okay I renege my previous statement. Workout for the ladies, especially if it gets you pumped. But I'd like to clarify that you should not push yourself too far as to injure yourself!

And Mike, I'm telling you straight... Pull ups are for lats majorily (yes I made up that word). Chin ups will recruit your lats but not to the point that pull ups will. Of all things lifting, this is one thing I know. My back is the only thing I am proud of and I can say that it was single handedly built on pull ups! When you do chins do you feel it the most in your lats or your arms? If you focus on chins then focus on pull ups, really... you be the judge. Which one hits your back more?

These are not all dead-hang as he claims, but this is a pull up.

Yeah those are what I call pull ups too. I'm not 100% on this so I'll take your word for it. I'll try both and pay close attention to where I feel it.

This routine is paaaaiinfully easy but I've got great results. This bringup the question, should I run this program again? I'm stronger than I thought. I keep setting PBs easily, I bench about 20 more lbs than I thought. I shoulder press 15 more than I thought. I'll test deads and squats before deloading.

Don't you just love when that happens... Some voice telling you that your max is this or that, then all of a sudden you get a mind/muscle connection that tells you to push through it and BOOM, you wipe your old PB out of the water. I love that feeling. Congrats on your lifts.

How'd you get away with pulling off a training session during a family reunion?

Pissin and moanin about not wanting to go because it's a 5 hour car ride and I needed to workout. My great aunt and great uncle are some of the nicest people I've ever met and they welcomed me to their basement which was ****ing awesome. He had two racks of dumbbells, homemade leg extensions, home made butterfly machine, two benches a bunch of different bars. A home made pully system for pulldowns.

So it was easy to hit my delts, bis and tris. Nice pump up before pool time, too bad there were no girls there that weren't related to me lmao. End up walking away with a second cousin or something lol.

Lol nice, at least you had that instead of nothing. I went on vacation for 4 days in the country. Had a great time, shot some guns, went fishing and off roading. But only had like 3 meals a day and no training. It was weak.

Oh yeah dude my diet was subpar at best. I ate a good amount of saturated fat though. Everytime I go there and eat the burgers I feel great for the rest of the day. Maybe I'm not eatting enough sat. fat per day. My family buys the leanest meats and everything so my sat fat intake's low. Of course you guys know that sat fat makes cholesterol and cholesterol is a building block of testosterone. Fuel for thinking there.

Oh yeah it will be for the next 2 months or so. I've been begging to go to the gym but my dad thinks that a Smith machine is just as good and won't take me to the gym. I've been putting off my chest day but I'll hit up the dbs in my basement instead I guess, if I can't go again today.

Nutrition as been spot on I'm looking like a bodybuilder now, I canthrow down a side chest shot whenever and look huge. Vasculation of the biceps is there all day now, when before it was only in the afternoon.

Sounds good, for dips I would just go to a kitchen and where two counters merge together to make a corner I'd do them there. Or pull together to tables or desks if you have any, of course that's before I got a walker from my Grandma that she never used anymore, since then I've been using that lol.

I'll try putting two tables together next time. I'm not gonna workout here today. My dad keeps bitching about how I should be able to just use dumbbells and a Smith machine and I keep telling him that I can't. Then a mentioned a deload week and he'd never heard of it. No one believes that I know what I'm talking about, whatever.

If no one takes me to the gym tomorrow I'll just ride my bike the 20-30 miles. I'm tired of being bored sitting on my ass at home.

Here's the diet so far

4oz wg spaghetti- 420 cal, 4g fat, 88g carbs, 10g pro
6oz ground beef 270cal, 7g fat, 0carb, 36g pro
1 cup tea 80 cal, 15g carbs

1/2 cup oats- 150, 3,28, 5
1 packet oatmeal 110,2,20,4
2 pieces wg bread- 220,3,28,8
1 can tuna-125,1.5,32
1 tbs Ranch 65,6.5

2 scoops whey-220,2,12,48
2 pieces white bread 130,2,33,4

Macros: 2920cal, 48g fat, 420g carb, 208g protein

I'm aware that I have too much protein here, I'll taper it off. Need 24 more g fat and 15-250 more g carbs.

I guess I'm gonna ride down the road to my friend's house. I'll bring some food and water, ****ing pissed that I have to miss another day. I'm not deloading, I get enough off days as it is.

I can't wait for the 4 plates, should start to turn some heads. Right now I'm good, I'm the biggest kid 18 or under in my gym, but I'm not elite. I'm not yet a monster, give it a year and I'll be the best in the state strength wise, if not the country that's my age. Next stop, the best, elite, I'll be the king. I feel like I'm the best, but there's still some that are better and some who are unimpressed by my strength. People say wow, they need to be in disbelief. I will be the best.

Best stress reliever in the world, good thing I got out of the home cuz I was about 5 minutes away from walking out. My parents BIIIIIIITCH.

Hopefully I'll be putting up bigger weights, that's all I'm concerned with. Even though I'm only moving the 60s after all my other bench stuff I can do the 90s if I'm fresh. Still haven't got to those hundreds though, I'll get them soon.

Continue as the day does.

I'm pretty ****ing pissed at myself right now. I keep slipping up and smoking- a lot. All I can do besides that is stay home and be bored and eat and lift, but I guess that's what I'll do stay home till the end of summer and work my ass off, I'm so tired of these minimal gains and inconsistency.

Not a big thing yet, but I just took a few days off instead of deloading and I need to figure out what I'm gonna do today and how.

I know what you mean man, it was pretty hard to knock the habit off for me back when I first quit, especially when you have two roommates who do it all the time, constantly. The thing that really helped me get through it was training and cardio. I remember my cardio use to suck so much because of my smoking habits. It still isn't that great but much better than it use to be. I would just preoccupy myself every time I had the urge, I'd play a video game, go outside and skate, go lift, make some food that would take 1 or 2 hours to make, chill with the girlfriend, visit family idk, just things to get my mind off of it. It's tough but you just gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I'm sure you'll push through it.. personally I don't think there is anything wrong with it but doing it every single day can be taxing on you when it comes to endurance in the gym.

Yeah that's the thing, but every morning when I wake up it's like the same old **** day after day. Wake up eat, eat, eat lift, eat sleep. I'm bored of that lifestyle. It's not even like I make great gains, it's slow of **** idk it's not as fun as it used to be. Now it's like uhhh I gotta go to the gym later, I don't have a car so I have to go pay bills with my mom then go to the gym then go shopping. It sucks. I kinda just wanna enjoy being a teenager. I mean the main reason I work out is so I can impress people. There's not any other reason for it really.

Come to think of it strength really doesn't matter because no one sees it. It seems like all that matters to others is the size of your arms. I think being a competitive lifter would be fun but it dominates your life. I'm gonna continue lifting and eating a lot but as long as I look good that's really all that matters. I mean who am I impressing by deadlifting 400? The kids in the gym when I do it, woopy ****ing doo. As a result I don't hang out with friends, I have extra stress always worrying about my workouts and honestly, it's not worth it to me anymore.

I might just chill out till school starts again cuz at that point all there is to do is lift weights. I'm gonna do curls and ab exercises and get cut up and get laid I guess, peace guys.

Oh did I mention I don't have one friend that doesn't smoke? Yeah that's important, there's just nothing else to do but smoke and get drunk dude. I hate it cuz now I'm stuck in a cycle of get ****ed up or feel depressed and ****ty. Or quit all that **** and have no social life whatsoever, stay home and eat and lift and watch tv. Either way it sucks.
