Do you need extra protein because of the cycle? .

sounds good see you in 18 years 11 months and 12 days.. haha, you referring to the epistane cycle?? been off that for almost a month now, not taking anything other than plasmagen and creatine mono.. no diet pills, giving the body a break from the 5 weeks of the cycle,also did the eca stack along with the epistane cycle, then did post cycle support of 6oxo for 3 weeks, waiting until next month to recheck my blood work, HDL level was at 14, should be 40-80 range, but i had it checked on my last day of the epistane cycle, so that probably had allot to do with the readings, i hope.. as far as the diet , my man freak will have to give you the answers to those particular questions, i`m not that informed as to the hows and whys of the insulin spike and tech, stuff on that nature, i know what good carbs are and bad carbs, i know protein and fats,i know how to figure out my calories,basic stuff like that,before i just ran a cut cycle at around 1,800 calories, protein was 190, carbs were 120, fats 30, got down to 7% if you can believe it,but i lost allot of size, the trainer at my gym hooked me up on that one, but that was about 12 years ago, so allot of information about diets and more educated people in the bodybuilding area helped get it to where it is now,when freak told me to get my calories up to 2500 a day for a cut i was like, no fu$#ing way is that going to help me cut any bf, but all i can say is a 2% reduction in bf in a month,he knows his ****,, and i would love to eat some pizza , but cant get ugly with the diet until i reach my goal,, all this clean eating has to be for a reason,, but man every time i pass a McDonald's, i`m like,,i could really go for a double 1/4 pounder and fries hell yea super-size that bad boy,, lol
not only all that but the older you get the slower your metabolism gets,, another bonus of age..

Lol thanks Mike, yeha I wouldn't fall that far below maintainance level or you will lose a lot of size. 2500 sounds well before maintainence for you too, but as long as your dropping calories weekly not daily you'll be fine. I'm sure Freak's got you set up with that though,

I thought you were still on a cycle haha, that's the one thing I know the least about it steroids. What's epistane and 6oxo, what's eca?

Even after your cut man, I'd never ever eat Micky D's again, trans fat'll be the hardest **** in the world to burn off.

well the first part of the diet is correct, freak`s got me covered on that, and since i only dropped 2 pounds over the last month and a 2% drop in bf, i`m not sacrificing muscle just burning bf, so yes thats working great.

second part of your question, i don't know **** about steroids either, i only got on the steroid thread account of talking about prohormones on the natty section when i first became a member, and was asked to move to the steroid section, so long story short here we are now, as far as the epistane is concerned its a prohormone , here is a link EPISTANE, its close to a steroid but not quite, its more harsh on your liver account it has to pass through your liver to function, it shuts down your body`s natural production of testosterone but not as severe as a steroid, so after doing the cycle of the prohormone you need to run a post cycle support supplement to get your body`s natural testosterone up and running again,thats what the 6oxo does,took it for 3 weeks after my epistane cycle to get the boys up and running agian,also i never used steroids or any prohormone prior to this one time, and over all the effects were pretty good, basically got my strength back up again and it also helps block estrogen that can cause fat gain and other side effects caused by high estrogen, i though i would give it a try since i was off the weight lifting for a couple of years and i`m 41 yrs. old, figured that since my natural testosterone is not as high as say yours is since the older you get the more it decrease`s, that a boost would be worth a try, used the epistane for 5 weeks and gained back all the strength that i had prior to taking the 2 years off, only draw back is that my blood work i had at the end of my cycle showed that my good cholesterol ( HDL) was really low, so after doing some research on it , one of the possible side effect`s of using certain prohormones is that it can cause the drop in (HDL) other than that i would say it was worth it, as far as the ECA stack i mentioned it is short for a stack of 3 pills, ephedrine/caffeine/aspirin, used 3x a day it is a potent fat burning stack, here is a link for more info as to what it primarily does
ECA stack - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
hope this address`s your questions, also yea the McDonald's is totally out of the question, but before i got back into the diet and lifting i really did`nt care all that much about fast food crap, i just loved the 1/4 pounders with cheese and French fries, it was fast and convenient not to mention cheap.. but the down side is like you said ,,"trans fat'll be the hardest **** in the world to burn off" i agree 100% bro.

Oh nice, thanks for the info. I'm thinking if I'm at a very high level about doing a cycle around 22ish, I know older's better so it depends on my level of competition at that time. Yeah that sounds like the diet's working great! So what'd you say you're about 15% now?

hey guys and if any women stop by hello gals,
today was a day off from weight lifting account of going to work, recap for those who don't know or don't remember what i do, i work for the bnsf railroad as a locomotive engineer, my job is to take a train from my home station to the away station which is mandan,nd...its a 200 mile run that is normally 10-12 hours long, i stay at a hotel in mandan when my run is over and can go back to work any where from 8-16 hours later, so my schedule is really not much of a schedule, most of my diet i prepare in advance for the trip to and then have enough for the trip home, my days at home range from 14 to 30 hours off, so i adjust my training and diet to accommodate with that, here is the tally of todays diet..

total of 6 meals
calories=2,400
protein=255
carbs =232
fats =50

meals were as follows,, started work at 5:30 a.m ended at 3:15 p.m. sitting in my hotel room doing the post, its now 8:30 p.m. and am finishing my protein shake 2 hours before i hit the bed..

meal #1
chicken breast
3/4 cup whole wheat pasta with 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce

meal #2
chicken breast
3/4 cup brown rice

meal #3
protein shake-2 scoops whey protein
carbs - 1 scoop of Glyco-Maize

meal #4
3 oz tuna with 2 tablespoons of miracle whip
12 whole wheat crackers

meal # 5
chicken breast
3/4 cup of brown rice

meal #6
protein shake-2 scoops whey
1 tablespoon of flax seed oil.

water intake was 10.. 10oz bottles

that about sums it up for the day , trying to mix up my meals to get a variety and not drink so many protein shakes, i know the first meal looks like a strange breakfast, but i did not get to bed until 11:30 last night so getting to work at 5:30 a.m.,, i really didn't feel to hungry so about 7:00 was when i ate my chicken and pasta breakfast.. anyway there it is sad but true, thanks for reading,, any positive input is always appreciated..

today was the second of my refeed days for the week, started fairly early with work again, aiming for 3,000 for the day came in around 2,800 >closer to getting my diet tweeked , so i added more carbs and protein, fats remain the same, had a fairly mild work out today,, just some leg extensions, and some stiff legged deadlifts with dumbbells, calf raises and crunches with some weight on my chest ..
for the diet it was like 7 meals , and more protein shakes than yesterday, but was`nt in the mood for a bunch of what i ate yesterday, also even tho i said cottage cheese was`nt something i would ever eat, i bit the bullet and gave them a try today, actually not as bad as i remember,, going to add it into my diet, high protein, go figure.. ok here`s todays food intake

1)
protein shake, 2 scoops whey
glyco-maize , 1 1/2 scoops

2)
chicken breast
3/4 cup whole wheat pasta,
1/2 cup of speghitti sauce

3)
chicken breast
3/4 cup of brown rice

4) protein shake,1 scoop whey
1/2 cup of cottage cheese
-- nap for 3 hours--

5) post work out shake 1 1/2 hours prior to workout

pro shake - 2 scoops whey
glyco-maize, 1 1/2 scoop

6)
chicken breast
3/4 cup brown rice
1/2 serving glyco-maize

7)
pro shake, 1 scoop whey
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 table spoon flax oil.

total
protein>298
carbs> 293
fats> 55

thats about it, thanks for reading up, all these extra calories actually make me less tired then normal, dropped the plasmagen supplement today, actually the bottle is empty and i`m out of $, need a break from the supp`s any way, have a good one

Hey Dude

Thot u retired this log so haven't checked in a while - excellent work on the diet. Only thinkg I would change is the gyco-maize - very high in simple carbs so i would use it only after the workout with a PB&J sandwich or some other simple carb to get the insulin spike. Piece of fruit would prolly do it too. other shakes - i'd go for a more balanced protein combo - like a "time release" type - (I think they combine whey w/ casien w/ somethin else so it's all digested at different rates) Syntha 6 is a good one too has some carbs but not a ton...... Mocha flavor is excellent! might want to substitue a yam for the brn rice for variety. Also may want to look into increasing the good (omega 3) fat intake - try eating salmon or taking a T or 2 of flaxseed oil. I've heard that fat is important to injest when u are trying to get leaner. Doesn't make a ton of sense but i think that's the prevailing thot. Almond, brazillnuts are also good for "fat"

and if that doesn't work i heard of this diet where all u eat is Ho-ho's and DingDongs! hahahaha

hey perkster,
actually the glyco-maize is a combination of Waxy maize starches that are long-chain, highly- branched, and exceptionally dense complex carbohydrates,that are rapidly absorbed, also in the mix is Trenhalose which is a smaller , slower-digesting molecule comprised of two unusually linked glucose surgars, + added is a ingredient called Carbogen enzymes that help ensure fast easy digestion without bloating or cramping, each serving is 1 scoop which yeilds, 35 grams of carbs with only 3 grams of sugar, i looked at the label so i could type what it said,, got rid of the synta 6 and went with the whey , felt to bloated using the syntha-6, also the flax oil is use is fortified with omega 6 and 3`s and at one tablespoon is only 10 g`s of fat, other wise the diet is pretty clean for fat content, mostly from the chicken breast and other food fats, the ho-ho diet is why i`m on the diet that i`m on now,, ha ha,.. no really,, hey thanks for the tips also, still getting good results on the refeed diet 2x a week and the other 5 days are keeping the calories at 2,500.. will have to prehaps change it up a bit the lower bf i go and weight , not sure on that tho.. thanks for stopping by
mike
