5 sets of 3 reps? That is a wickedly low rep range man. Id say 5x5 reps or 4 sets x 5 reps.

Maybe you respond better to super low rep ranges?

i only go that low on the 3 main exercises because my primary focus is just to build strength on these exercises. Will this work better than say a 5x5 only time will tell

So id definately reccommend it, 100%. Theres many ways os setting up a kind of powerbuilding routine,, i say powerbuilding because strictly speaking i am not doing a specific powerlifting routine. Anyways at the moment im on a 3 day day split only because thats all i can manage time wise for the time being. So each day you build your routine around the big three, Squat, Bench, Deadlift. Start of with these everytime,, and its up to you how many sets and reps you do but at the moment im doing 5 sets of 3. Then after this you perform assisstance exercises for that particular movement. So for example the bench press involves your chest, shoulders and triceps mainly so you include assisstance exercises for these muscle groups. pick about 5 assisstance exercises and also train abs as well. This is the way im doing it and id say give it a go,, if you would like to train more days im sure we could modify it somewhat to suit your needs. Get in touch if theres any more i can do or if you have any questions bud.
Thanks for that, Definitely just helped me understand that for sure. I am going to do this most likely in the summer. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me man..

I think low reps are a good thing to help the body kick it up a notch, for me I am going to try, after I get used to my workout routine, throwing in some low rep days every few weeks, like some 5x5 or 3x3 maybe even a few sets of 2x2 every now and then to check my strength progress and get used to the big time heavy stuff.

Everyones body is different, some guys need high reps, some guys do a warm up set and 3 sets of heavy ass weight and go 4-7 reps and they blow up like you wouldn't believe, do what works for you bro

Deadlift Day - Brutal Workout

Deadlift:
110kg x 3
110kg x 3
110kg x 3
110kg x 3
110kg x 1

Chins (bodyweight):
7
6
4

Dumbell Row:
28kg x 8
28kg x 8
28kg x 7

Ham Curl:
45kg x 12
55kg x 8
55kg x 7

Cable Curl:
21.25kg x 12
23.75kg x 8
23.75kg x 8

Reflections: This was one of the most brutal workouts i have had in a long time. Those 5 sets of deadlifts were an absolute killer,, my forearms and grip were seriously letting me down on the 5th set,, then doing the chinsa and dumbell curls felt so hard. I am usually alot stronger on both of these exercise. Im sure once i have adjusted properly to this workout my grip and forearms will get used to it. One thing for sure i know they will definately be aching tomorrow. Strength on the deadlifts were pretty decent as i haven't done them in quite a long time. What i mite do for my next workout is to do my deadlifts without stras but then for my assisstance exercises use straps so i can really focus on my back muscle. What do you guys think of this, rekon its a good idea or should i not use straps on all exercises so i can build my forearms up even more. All in all great workout!!!!
