You would have to be more specific on where the pain is, but I would reccomend seeing a shoulder-specific doctor, not a physician. They are more highly trained and have usually been working on specific body parts for years.

if your arm "pops loose" then its a subluxation, or a partial dislocation where the joint can pop out and pop back in, tho im sure theres more to it and it isnt that

see a physio. A physician will tell you to stop training, a physio will be able to tell you how to keep training

the symptoms that he was discribing isnt a subluxation or a dislocation. its crepitis in the joints, tendinitis or rtc tear. if he was able to continue lifting with lighter weight, there was noway it could be subluxed or dislocated. he would be in so much pain he wouldnt be able to lift anything for the rest of the day. when you go to ur dr he'll give u oxycotten or a cortisol shot. don't get the shot, just go to a physical therapist and he'll teach u to strengthen and train ur rotator cuff muscles. get an mri to see if its a partial tear and they therapist will fix u according to where the tear is. best of luck
