Also, I always lift with dumbbells and barbells, but I'm not sure it's smart to lift heavy today with my wrist hurting... I usually do barbell squats, but do you think it would be ok if I used machines today instead? I know that free weights are much better...
Thanks for any tips/advice!

Yes, I believe that Flax/Fish oil would help. I take Flax Oil and Glucosamine. I had severe wrist pain in college, and saw several doctors for the problem.(due to squats and other various other olympic lifts) I have not had it as badly since I have been taking the supps.
You can also gain flexibility in your wrists(much like any other joint) I did this and it helped a great deal, it alleviates a lot of the pain once you gain flexibility. You can start(if you dont already do this) by pushing your fingers(gradually, palm facing the sky) back towards the top side of your forearm. You can also do the reverse, pushing fingers towards the underside of your forearm. I think that sounded confusing...maybe I can find a pic.
Like you said, free-weights are better...but using machines will still serve the same/similar purpose and are a better alternative than hurting your wrists. BTW?? Just out of curiosity, what grip style do you use for squats?
