Recently I have been waking up with this awful pain in my middle back and its only there when i take a real deep breath in. after i get out of bed im perfectly fine and i dont have it during my lifting or the entire day. only the first few minutes waking up. Someone suggested it might be the mattress but i dont know. anyone come across this?

It could be your mattress or just the way you sleep. I'd also see a chiropractor and see if you have a rib out of place -- it can happen as easily as coughing too hard.

I have a similar problem down by my right hip. It's fine once I'm out of bed.
