Hey fellas,
I'm out of training for some time, as some of you know I've been getting pains in my right shoulder over the past few weeks. Today I was benching, it was only my first exercise, I managed to get to my 3rd set & had to stop. I wasn't doing anything too heavy or strenous since I was still warming up. I was only using 2 1\2 plates either side (265). I hit the 7th rep & my shoulder gave way, luckily my gym partner was close enough to pull the bar of me before I completly dropped it. I'm going to see a doc on Wed this week to see what he says. Right now I can't move it, I can't even drive it's so bad, I been taking 800mg every 6 hours of Ibuprofen & it doesn't help the slightest...The pain's mainly around my Clavicle & Anterior delt, with some serious swelling & bruising. I think in the past I may of had a fractured collar bone & been training with it for some time. It was an injury waiting to happen, & I'm the one to blame for it for neglecting it for so long...

I was on my 10th week of a AAS cycle aswell, I've now had to stop that too. Will be starting PCT in 3 weeks due to using Sus.

A nurse friend of mine said I may be out untill Xmas maybe longer depending on how bad it is. I'm really bumbed about this bro's, what can I do, I feel like shit & feel to give up lifting as a whole. I'm really breaking down right now...I don't know how long I'll be out for. I can't train nothing but my legs & abs...What can I do, I feel LOST

I can't say I feel your pain since it's so bad, but I am in pain too.. been injured for a couple months with what seems to be a rotator cuff tear, it won't even let me sleep sometimes. I don't have enough money to get things done quickly, haven't even taken a fucking MRI yet and that's led me to consider quitting to be honest, a few times...

But when I look in the mirror it's crystal clear: I can't quit. This is what I love doing and I have a whole life ahead of me to keep doing what I love so I just have to be patient.. it's fucking hard but I know the weights will still be there waiting for me.

Good luck bro, don't give up what you love

Im feel bad for you mate, only thing I can say is wait untill its fully healed then come back and start training again and gradually build it up.

If you feel like quitting then just read your sig again, as you said bodybuilding takes a life long dedication, drive, commitment & heart...there's no such thing as a retired bodybuilder... REMEMBER THAT. It may hurt now but once youve healed youll have the right mentality - and will have learned from your mistake - so you will be able get right back into the game.

Also depending on the injury, instead of coming off aas could you not start a cycle to increase collagen synthesis?

Overcoming adversity is what seperates a champion from a also ran. See the psysio,( use diclofenac instead of ibufren) get some rehab exercises and use the time to work the quads. Its only over when you say its over, all the best, Jim

Hit legs and abs then. This will only make you stronger. If we didn't have any roadbumps in life we wouldn't know what it is like to work hard. Stay strong bro.

Hey LBJ
Sorry to hear about the injury - that's freaky. Go see the doc and take care of it - you'll be stronger when you come back. in the meantime, train what you can - your legs will be huge! And be sure to get a prescription for PT or massage therapy - maybe a cute little masseuse with some hot oil will lift your spirits. ;-)

Good luck bro!

agreed, think of it like this: "Heaven and Hell exist in the mind. Heaven is what you make it, and Hell is what you go through to get there" -anon. Its true when you think about it, nothing in life is easy, you can either give up and sulk in the corner, or keep your head up, let it fuel your recovery and get you back on your feet, and back to your day to day routine. Dont let this beat you down bro, your stronger than that.

Spot on if we all have the road bumps, it gives up perspective, most of us will view it as a negative at first, but then dependent on your personality, you can either wallow or become even more determined to overcome what life chucks at you. I see people working out in wheelchairs, our own guy Horajo, the french bodybuilder, lost one arm in a car crash, they inspire me, more than any pro could do! and has brent says it through road bumps we develop the mental power to overcome adversity
