When doing lying tricep extensions when I go heavy I can lift the weight, but the main weakness seems to be a burning sensation just above my elbow where the tendon is.

Am I moving up too quick? Is there a way to strengthen joints and tendons and those things?

Should I try to wrap my elbows until I get more workout time under my belt? I am new to working out, I think for a beginner I have good natural strength, but maybe the joints and tendons are not built up yet, if there is such a thing.

What do you guys think?

i injured my elbow couple months ago and it hurted like hell, i did ( lying triceps extensions) try the work the weight up, dont be in a hurry to lift big. im saying this from my own experience. start low weights with a right form, and squeeze the triceps harder every rep. much better than lifting heavy and shooting up the weigh and getting injured. always warm up your joints and muscle. warm up with very low weight and a couple sets to get your heart pump faster and also your joints will feel better. i hope this helped

How is your form on this exercise? I get the same problem doing Skull Crushers when my form is off. Try not to go too heavy on exercises that involve a great stress on your tendons and joints.

I have the same problem when doing skull crushers as well. Form is extrememly important on these. When I go too heavy (for my elbows) I get inflamation of my bursa sac. Pop some joint supplements for a few days and I am good to go.

I wasn't hurt, I just felt the burning, I did a warm up set them slapped some weight on and next set I did the bar and two 45's which would be 135 pounds, guess I will try to go up slower, whats good for skull crushers +10 pounds per set?
