Last year I had a bad period where I injured both my knees and my right shoulder due to overtraining. I can't tell exactly when I got them, it felt as if I discovered them after they appeared.
My knees where worst, if I tried to do any leg press, squats or even deadlifts I would get a sharp striking pain. My doctor called it for a stereotupe case of Jumper's Knee.
My shoulder however he didn't put much effort on, because the knees where killing me. I think I got my shoulder injury from heavy shoulder press.
So he gave me a shockwave therapy, some anti-inflamatory pills and a told me to rest.
During the first week, it got a lot better. But after that, nothing happened. My knees and right shoulder stopped getting better and continued killing me. So after 3 months I lost patience and started training again.
As a result, my knees actually got a lot better. After a few weeks I almost didn't notice any pain, and it's been like that up till now. Every once in a while I note an almost non-existant sting and the joint that goes right bellow my knee, it feels a bit tighter than what was usual, specially the 2 days after leg workout.
It's almost like if I'm fully recovered, but I am not. The funny part is that my quads are bigger and stronger than ever, I can squat for 30Kg more than my old record and for more sets.
The shoulder part is a bit different. While doing heavy bench presses and shoulder presses on straight barbel bars, I feel a deep stinging pain when the bar goes low and my elbows point to the sides.
The day after I get an annoying deep pain somewhere in the right shoulder. It's not a severe injury, it's just plain annoying. I also get this deep stinging feeling while doing a sudden movement with my shoulder when it meets resistance. Like pushing something heavy.
I had gotten this somewhat under control, but recently I went back to heavy shoulder press and I can feel that it hasn't gone away yet.
I can't quite localize where the pain comes from, but if I squeeze with my hand bellow to the right of the right collar bone I can feel a sore and irritated joint. From what I read here it sounds like the AC joint.
Anyways, the injuries don't really incapacitate me. It's just sort of annoying to have them, and I think that the shoulder pain is restricting my endurance in the shoulder.
I have had both injuries for over a year. The reason I haven't gone to the doctor again is because doctors here in Norway are way too expensive. I ended up paying 200 $ for something that didn't help one bit. And when I go again he will probably just tell me to take some anti-inflamatory and rest again.
Which I know that at this point does not help. My opinion on doctors here in Norway is -> They are cheap and useless.
I will probably ask him to send me to a specialist though.
So, what's your inputs?.
