Alright, so I had exploratory abdomen surgery 6 weeks ago because i had a tumor in my stomach and it caused my appendix to rupture. So I had all these huge infections that they had to get out. Anyways, I want to get back into lifting, but my doctor said i need to wait almost another month. I already lost about 30 pounds from all of this. I always heard it takes 6 weeks to get back into lifting after surgery. Should I listen to my doctor or just get back into it?

PS. My doctor is very against bodybuilding, he claims it is very unhealthy.

Listen to your doctor. Get your diet/training split ready while you’re waiting. You do not want to exacerbate your current injury and set yourself back further.

Good luck recovering!
