When I have my elbow at my side and I flex my forearm, it makes a small popping noise. It doesn't cause any pain or discomfort but sounds really weird. When it is away from my body in a position for tricep pull downs, it no longer makes the noise. Any ideas???

"Snapping tendons" are pretty common. It's just one of your tendons sort of clicking over a bone or some harder tissue under it. Generally it's not a problem unless you do something that causes it a lot. In that case it can get aggrivated and swell up, cuasing you some pain for a day or two.

I'm no doctor, just giving you my best guess.
