I've been having pain in my LEFT forearm only, and it's distinctly the BONE that is hurting, not any of the muscles in there. I only experience this pain when doing heavy bicep curls, such as with the ez-curl bar, not when doing any other lifts...
I'm guessing that this pain is being caused by under-developed forearm muscles? The muscles take the weight, then the bones? So I've been really increasing my forearm workouts because honestly they have been neglected...do you think the pain should go away once my forearm muscles are up to par?

Its a form of tendonitis. I used to get it but don't now. Mainly because my form is better and my forearms are much stronger, as is my grip. Also I don't use a EZ bar anymore nor do I do a lot of preacher curls.

That's what I thought might be going on...recently the pain has subsided a little as I've been really working to develop my forearms and grips (farmer walks with dumbells have been helping a lot I think). Thanks a lot for the help guys.

So the main points i got were to work the forearm? or have a rest?? which one is it? id like continue to work out and not be delayed on my left side. thanks!! ill post pics soon...

Bro, I hope you aren't going through nerve damage like I did a few months ago.
I had a shooting, horrific pain in my wrist and fingers. It came and went for 2 weeks often after working out heavy with shrugs or deadlifts. I went to a Neurologist and he said I had delayed nerve reaction in my elbow and wrist due to damage. I am STILL on Neurontin and this is the 4th month. It's better now but I kept off of it until he said otherwise. Hope this helps some.

^ i hope its not nerve damage... i didnt think it was serious but thanks for pointing it out. CNovajason: does your elbow -> forearm - > wrist constantly hurt?? or is it just when you work out?? it could be nerve damage because when i come to think about it, when i flex my left arm it feels different to my right as in it is less of a contraction.

Mygeeto, that happens to me too, but its more worse on my left arm, im thinking its because my left arm is much weaker than my right arm?? (i used to play racquet sports so one is always stronger etc) my wrists hurt when i do barbell curls and db curls :S how long has it been happening with you? have u tried a lower weight??? i might have to experiment

edit: i also have alot of 'clicking' noises at my elbows and wrists, everytime i turn my wrist theres a click noise. anyone know what that means?

It would hurt only after working out. Like I said, it would come and go. But when it came, it was horrific.

A guy at my gym said the pain in your forearms is just like when a runner gets shine splints. I get the same pains in my forearms when I do curls with the ez bar. His advise was to lay off that workout for a week or two.

I used to have the same type of pain in my right elbow on the medial side known as golfer's elbow. Heavy lying tricep extensions and heavy barbell curls caused it. I stopped doing both exercises and started icing my elbow after my workouts. The pain eventually went away, I do the exercises now but I do them towards the end of my workout , and my forearm and elbow are fine.
