I'm very mesomorphic so I put on muscle rather easily with out having to drastically change my diet. I just watch my carb intake to make sure that I don't put on extra fat that I'll have to get rid of later. You don't have to add extra bodyfat in the offseason to bulk up. I have add pounds of muscle while consistantly dropping my bodyfat%. This 280lbs offseason and 230lbs precontest bull**** is just extra time in gym burning bodyfat that should have never been there to begin with. Just make sure you get enough protein and healthy carbs(to little carbs will cause you to lose muscle mass as your body will breakdown muscle tissue for energy to make up for the lose of carbs) and also make sure you get a sufficient amount of healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals to support your newly earned muscle growth. Anybody correct me here if you can support another idea!!! This is just what works well for me.

on a serious hard gaining bulk stick to a 2:1 ratio on carbs & proteins...
protein 1g\lb bodyweight. & carbs 2g\lb bodyweight...

4 calories per g of protein & carbs, 9 calories for per g fat & 7 for alcohol(that dont mean u can drink though)
