I HAVE A CLASS IN SCHOOL CALLED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING. WHAT YOU GET TO DO FOR ABOUT 80 MINUTES IS WORK OUT..MY CUP OF TEE. IT ALSO HELPS THAT MY POWERLIFTING COACH HAPPENS TO BE THE TEACHER. AS YOU KNOW FROM MY LAST JOURNAL ENTRY I INJURED A NERVE IN MY PELVIC BASE. BOTTOM LINE...I CAN'T DO ANY LOWER HALF WORK A MINIMUM OF A WEEK. OH AND IT GETS BETTER..I CAN'T DO ANY WORKOUT WHERE MY FEET ARE ON THE GROUND STABLIZING ME--SQUAT,BENCH PRESS,LAT PULLDOWN,ECT. WHAT THAT LIMITS ME TO ARE BASICALLY PULL UPS AND BENCH PRESSES WITH MY FEET IN THE AIR.HMM...I SAID F*CK THAT YESTERDAY AND DID MY CHEST WORKOUT. I BLASTED EVERY FIBER OF MY CHEST WITH MY INTENSE DC STYLE TRAINING. TODAY MY CHEST IS SORE AS I'VE FELT IN A WHILE. TODAY WAS BACK DAY..AND I TRYED LAT PULLDOWNS AND WOW DID IT HURT. TRYED BARBELL ROWS AND IT REALLY HURT TOO. DUMBELL ROWS..HURT...LAT PULLOVER..HURT. F*CK WHAT DO I DO? I IMPROVISE. AS I SAT IN THAT DARK WEIGHT ROOM,I LOOKED AROUND. I LOOKED IN MY COACHES EYES...AND I WAS INSTANTLY INSPIRED. I KNEW HE WOULD NEVER LET ANYTHING GET IN HIS WAY OF WINNING ANY KIND OF COMPETITION. MY COACH PLAYED IN THE FREAKING NFL FOR THE ATLANTA FALCONS...I'M SURE HE HAD INJURIES BUT HE DIDNT QUIT. I STOPPED FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF AND WENT TO A PULL UP BAR. 40 SETS LATER AND 4 DIFFERENT VARIATION OF THE PULLUP AND MY BACK IS FULL OF BLOOD AND I KNOW I HAD A SUCCESSFULL WORKOUT.HERES MY ROUTINE:
CHIN UPS CLOSE GRIP:10SETSX8
CHIN UPS WIDE GRIP:10SETSX8
PULL UP:10SETSX8
POWER RACK PULL UP:10SETSX8***

POWER RACK PULLUP IS WHEN YOU PUT THE STOPS TOWARDS THE BOTTOM, ROUGHLY 2 OR 3 FEET DEPENDING ON YOUR ARM LENGTH FROM THE BOTTOM, GET A BENCH, AND PUT YOUR FEET ON IT. THEY YOU TAKE A SHOULDER WIDTH GRIP ON THE BAR SO YOUR BACK IS ABOUT 2 OR 3 INCHES OFF THE GROUND(YOUR BODY SHOULD BE PARRALLEL WITH THE GROUND) AND PULL YOURSELF UP LIKE A PULL UP. THIS EXERCISE IS A GREAT VARIATION OF THE PULL UP. IT GIVES ME WIDTH AND THICKNESS.

TODAY TAUGHT ME SOMETHING BROTHERS. NO MATTER WHAT LIFE HANDS YOU..YOU MUST MOVE ON. TAKE YOUR HAND AND FUCKING SHOW LIFE THAT YOU WILL NOT QUIT. IF I HAD SKIPPED TODAYS BACKWORKOUT MY COMPETITION WOULD HAVE BEEN GETTING BIGGER AND WIDER. COMPETITION IS LIKE A WAR..AND THERE ARE NO BREAKS BROTHER. TRAIN AND PROSPERE.

actually brother..the doc said I could do pull ups all day long..maybe you should have read that part. I couldn't do anything with my feet stablizing me on the ground. in pull ups your feet never touch the ground. And I was told by the doc himself I could do pull ups. Just making that clear brother.

I hope I am an inspiration. You know what other 16 year old kids are doing. drinking, doing drugs and f*cking up. I am bettering my life,I commited myself to being the best athelete I can. You know what I have gained?
Between 3 powerlifting federations I have:
2 State titles
1 National title
1 World title
7 state records(4 in the bench press)
1 National record(bench press)
1 World Record(bench press)
My schools all time best 198lb powerlifting record
2 world qualifiers(olympics of powerlifting)
And I have the biggest bench squat and deadlift in my school.
at 16 I have a 400+ bench, 550+ squat and deadlift.

So once again..you do what works for your body and I'll do what works for mine. So far what I do works for me so I'm gonna keep doing it. And if you were in anyway insulted by my article, I'm sorry you feel that way. Understand I'm trying to turn into an inspiration to teens outside of my school to better their life, loose the drugs and alcohol and turn to something healthy such as powerlifting or bodybuilding.

'TRYED BARBELL ROWS AND IT REALLY HURT TOO. DUMBELL ROWS..HURT...LAT PULLOVER.'

Given that u compete is it really worth setting urself back with a serious injury and then losing months of lost training, train hard of course but train smart also, dont let ur ego get in the way. u said u did 40 sets of pull ups, when the adrenaline is pumping etc ur numbed to pain u could have done serious damage and not known about it til it was too late.

edit: if the doctor said pull ups were fine but not rows etc, why didnt u just do pull ups in the first place ...so ur story is u tried to go against docs orders but realised it was a bad idea cos it hurt then did pull ups which u knew were fine

Brutal - Your enthusiasm is incredible bro. You've already accomplished alot more than what a lot of us will. But remember the most important thing is what can you do for the sport or Bodybuilding or Weightlifting. I hope you go to the top bud and with the kind of energy you display in the forums if you have that same kind of intensity with the weights im sure your going to go far. Remember to stay humble and teach those who want to be taught. This sport is the best!!!! Great job.

Yeah powerlifting is my life. As of now I'm trying to get the NCAA and Olympics to recognize powerlifting. I'm emailing everyone I can. I'm trying to show people the wonders of powerlifting. See the problem is not many people know about powerlifitng. I want the world to be exposed to this wonderful sport.

I'm also currently working on getting some news coverage for my team at states. We are undefeated since 2001. No one has even come close to us. Our 95lb lifter, who happens to be a girl and 14, is squatting around 225, deadlifting around 170 and benching about 135. Thats pretty freakin impressive.

I want the world to see what a wonderful sport this is and also expose them to the comradery among the lifters. The first time you go to a powerlifting meet, you realize that the powerlifters are one huge family (pun intended). At nationals, one of the biggest benchers( Gene Rychlak Jr,1005 bench press) and squatters (Donnie Thompson,1025 squat) would help us get our gear on and chalk up and cheered us on. The pros. That would be like Terrell Owens helping a pop warner wide reciever put pads on.
