Hello everyone. I just started to lift weights a month ago. I honestly only work on my upper body, I dnt know if that's a bad thing?

My usual schedule is one day go in, do 50 push ups then I bench press 70 lbs. I do 4 sets of 25. Then I call it a wrap. I let my muscles heal back for 2 days before I repeat that work out. Now should I add 10 more pounds every week or every 2 weeks or what? On the next day I usually use dumb bells. 25 lbs and do like 4 sets of 25 each also. Then I do 2 sets of 50 push ups.

Is waiting 2 days necessary or should I work out again after 1 day of rest. Also should I add the extra 10 lbs every week or every 2 weeks? Is it bad to only work out my upper body? Suggestions please!

first off you are making a huge mistake in not training your legs, the most development overall in body structure will occur if you would start doing squats, and dead lifts,
unless you are looking for the body shape of a light bulb? if so then only train your upper body!!
looking at your training you are in dire need of information on how to train, research on different muscle groups and what compound exercises will work best, doing 4 sets of 25 reps for just chest is not a workout routine, hell i`m not even sure what to call it,
i have no advice to offer you on what your asking about increasing your poundages if your only going to train chest by doing push-ups and bench presses,
my suggestion is to look at some of the training logs here and see what a real workout is, that involves all muscle groups, and different sets and reps, your missing pretty much everything in your current approach..

Your right. I did some research and this is what i will start to do. Tell me if this sounds about right.

Mondays
Upper Body
Bench Press,
Push Ups
Rows

Tuesdays
Lower Body
Squat
Quad Focus

Wednesday
Rest

Thursday
UpperBody
Bench PrESS
Push Ups
Rows

Friday
Lower Body
Deadlift
Hamstring

Saturday and Sunday rest.

I will take Ultra Man Multivitamin Supplements once a day. To be honest i dont eat too much.

I dont want to get a super body like most of you guys, but i do want to get bigger and more toned. Can you give me advice of how many reps or what type of excercises i should do on those type of days?
