Deloading works for some, but doesn't work for all. For me, taking a straight up break allows my body to completely recover. It depends on how far you're over-reaching. If you're drained (constantly tired and exhausted, cranky, body aches, etc) then I'd give yourself a 5-7 day break.
Always schedule a deload or "break" every 5-8 weeks. Works wonders.
If the plain week off is what worked for you I wouldn't switch around until that fails.
A deload is simply a lowering in volume and intensity. Still placing stress and minimally overload correspondingly.

Proof that hard work grants success: Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power
Postulate 2: Time is money
Postulate 3: Success is measure by wealth In physics,
Power = Work / Time Substitution dictates:
Knowledge = Work / Money Solve for Money which = Success:
Money = Success = Work / Knowledge
Thus, success is determined by the amount of work you put in so long as you maintain a certain level of knowledge :) |
