Not sure if this is the best place for this or not, but I figure I'ma teen so what the hell. So I think I might be overtraining, I know for a while I was and then I took 5 days off and got past my last plateau. I would train each muscle group twice a week and some times one would get hit three times. More recently I've been doing everything twice a week and I just took 4 days off guess I hit another plateau and thought it might work again. I think instead of take a few days off every few months I'll just try the deloading that I've heard about, can someone tell me what it is and how to do it.

Thanks

Basically use still do the same routine but lift 50%-60% of what you would usually lift. You would usually just do it for 1 week but if you feel its neccesary you could try 2 weeks with 70%-80% of you normal weights on the second week.

IMO, I wouldn't hit each muscle group twice in a seven day period. Maybe one week do one body part twice, if you get what I'm saying. Unless your taking something to help your muscle's recover, and your feeling great, but I would take a break from that muscle group for 3-4* days.

Months back I would do my chest twice a week along with my bi's and for my chest, I think part of it was mental, because my body was tired and when I would hit plateu's it was awful.

But whatever is going to work for your body, give it a try.

Trial and error, is the best thing in lifting, if it dosen't work, sucks. Try somtehing else. Your best body part is your brian.

Deloading works for some, but doesn't work for all. For me, taking a straight up break allows my body to completely recover. It depends on how far you're over-reaching. If you're drained (constantly tired and exhausted, cranky, body aches, etc) then I'd give yourself a 5-7 day break.

Always schedule a deload or "break" every 5-8 weeks. Works wonders.
If the plain week off is what worked for you I wouldn't switch around until that fails.

A deload is simply a lowering in volume and intensity. Still placing stress and minimally overload correspondingly.

Solve for Money which = Success:
Money = Success = Work / Knowledge

Thus, success is determined by the amount of work you put in so long as you maintain a certain level of knowledge :)

Alright thanks guys, answered my question perfectly, so far taking a few days off works the best so I think I'll just keep doing that.
