I am making a conscious effort now to lose some weight but in reality it is to lose my gut. I am cutting my workouts from 5 days to 4 days and using the 3 days off for running. 2 things I am wondering is this. Would running 3 days a week 20-30 min be good enough to burn fat or do I need more? I want to limit it so I dont lose muscle..

Also. when it comes to food, many times even when I am working for mass I will eat protein even if I dont feel that hungry. When dieting now should I eat even something small if I dont feel hungry? I also plan to take some B complex tablets to help my metabolism because so many times I really dont much of it and then I eat and I feel bloated at times. I also plan to up my water intake.

Any pointers with this? I hit this full force 2-4-06

John

Hey DeaDn, are you trying to lose weight for a contest?? If not, I will move this into the training or nutrition forums...you should get quite a few more responses in there.

Thanks! Banshee

Hey man! That plan sounds pretty good. If you don't want to lose muscle then keep up your protein intake to what you are taking in now. That amount of cardio sounds fine as long as you keep your calroic intake at a maintenance level rather than a bulking level. Check your BMR and then add a few calories on top of that to allow for the extra work you do at the gym and that should put you on the right track.

Hey, thanks for the encouragement. I Have actually never attempted to cut if you will. The last time I even lost weight was when my wife was overseas and we didnt realize her visa was expired. I actually lost 12 over the course of 4 days. All I ate was fruit.

I think the key to my diet will be once or twice a week is upping my caloric intake to shake up my system. I gotta get my metabolism insync though because it feels like it has been muffled lol.
