You should be adding sodium to your PWO shake in the first place.
Whey + Dextrose + Maltodextrin + Sodium
Then during your shake, take your creatine, glutamine, and any antioxidants.
Tell your friend that diabetes is caused by heredity and poor eating habits. After you workout your cortisol levels are very high, as opposed to your insulin levels, thus you need the spike to keep the cortisol down. The insulin spike you get PWO is a necessity.
