I'm home from school for winter break and planned my previous cutting cycle to end accordingly so I can get to some winter bulking on my parents $$$.

Long story short, I've been eating everything I can. My nutrition has gone from extreemly structured to a little chaotic. So far I'm already feeling stronger and have resumed a power lifting routine to last me 9 weeks (Bill Stars Dual Factor 5x5 program).

My concern is that I'm putting on weight extreemly fast and don't know if I should be lowering my caloric intake. I started bulking about 9 days ago and am up 14 pounds at present. I was at a little under 8% bodyfat when I began and am unable to measure it now until I return to school in January.

This happened last bulking round (gained like 10lbs right away and stopped gaining w/ slowing the eating) and I'm not sure if I should expect it this time around too. I'm already feeling like I'm putting on good weight in my upper legs on this diet (squatted 4x in 8 days).

I know i have the balls to strip any fat I put on, but am wondering if you guys think this is too quick.

My abs are dissapearing a little, but I'm not looking sloppy yet by any means. Ohh and for the record I started a creatine cycle and typically put on ~5 pounds or so when I do.

What do you guys think?

Considering about 5 pounds of this is water weight, that still leaves 9 pounds gained in 9 days. Any more than .3 pounds in one day is too much.

Flex,

I suspected as much. I'll cut the calories/up my water for the next week--see how my body looks/feels and whats happening weight and strength wise. Also will clean up the calorie sources (i.e. might nix dairy).

gain 1 lb a week/ traing hard&heavy and eating very clean diet

take in 500 calories more than your total daily calorie expenditure

lets say u burn 3000 calories daily ---> eat 3500 calories. in a week u will gain 1 lb

wow 14 pounds in 9 days
creatine would help with it but i would use ur abs as your best gauge, personally i dont only becuase ive never had them out enouigh to see :(
anyway if you lose TOO much sight of them then adjust it from there, otherwise if ur waist isnt growingand ur body is gaining mass u might be fine

well i'd say that is too much you should'nt realy be gainning more than 3lbs a wk
so just slow it down alittle bit. try to eat atleast 1000 over your normal caloric intake
