Just becuase you do not hold any water doesnt mean the creatine is not working. I take creatine and to be honest I dont hold water. Well, maybe I do but not enough to notice.

If it isn't working for you then you're probably taking it incorrectly or it may just be your imagination. Some people expect to spoon 5 grams into their mouth for the first time and automatically gain 10 lbs of muscle. How much do you take each day and when?

CEE isnt really the best if you ask me. Just stick to monohydrate. Actually, if I recall correctly CEE is designed so there is not water retention. And as far as the water retention, if you do experience any it will go away after some time. I also think that creatine should be cycled. even though its non-hormonal ive always felt it shoudl be cycled. say 8 weeks on 4 weeks off. plus it keeps variety with your supplements. and i would definately stop creatine for several weeks of you are taking 3 times the recommended dosage.

I agree with Diesel, just stick to monohydrate. Also, creatine will only work for so long until it needs to be cycled/loaded again.

what do think a creatine cycle should look like? I have been on it solid for about a year now so if it needs to be cycled nows the time!

I think its good to go with something like 8 weeks on 4 weeks off and keep to the recommended dosages while on.

you do not need to cycle creatine. creatine is non-hormonal and taking creatine does not stop natural creatine production. you can take it year round if you want to. its just that your body may not respond to creatine if you continously take it. as far as a "preferred" cycle, i really dont think there is one. just cycle it someway or another. whether its 4 weeks on 4 weeks off or w/e, i dont think that really matters. to be honest, i dont even cycle creatine. let me explain a little better, ill take creatine for 2 months or so and then i wont take it again for like another couple of months. just b/c i havent noticed a great deal in gains to keep blowing my money on it. if there is any difference I notice, its that i have better endurance in the gym. im able to recover a little faster in between sets.

You don't need to cycle it, that's why I said cycle OR load. If you decide you won't be cycling it, then you should re-load after a period of 8 weeks or so.

Like Diesel said, over time your body will adjust to the creatine and thus will lose effectiveness. You can avoid this by cycling off 1-2 weeks then reloading, or even avoid cycling off by just reloading.

I tend to go 4-5 weeks on, then just a week or two off.
Flex, i'm taking Prolab Monohydrate, i have always stuck with simply two teaspoons
after my workout, would you reccomend more or is this a decent dose?

I would recommend switching your routine to one teaspoon in the morning and another teaspoon post workout.

right now i'm just using creatine for pre and post workout and with no loading phase. I'll probably finish the tub in 3 weeks, take 2 weeks off then start using it again...

Three weeks isn't enough time for the creatine to kick in without loading.

Looking at your post again, you have probably been on the creatine for some time now.

My mistake.

please note , your body has it's own creatine factory producing about 1gm per day .if you take creatine for long periods or take high dosage this factory will stop producing it ,so cycling creatine is a safe way to prevent this happing .as said earlier 8wks on and 4wk off sounds good advice

Just my two cents...you should "cycle" your creatine. Take it for 8 weeks, then take two weeks off and reload. The reason for cycling is to give you kidneys a breather. I know most of us consume enough water, but it 's good to give them a break every two months or so.

actually from what I have read taking creatine does not stop the natural production of creatine in your body. but like everyone has said its good to cycle due to the fact that creatine is somewhat rough on your kidneys. of course it depends how much water you drink, but to be safe its good to cycle either way.
