Dietary Problem - Lethal Farts

Funny I know, but true. Recently I've been farting constantly, and they are the nastiest smelling badass farts you can imagine. Nose stinging stuff.

My daily diet looks like this:

LARGE bowl of malted wheats with 400ml semi-skimmed milk + 2 scoops of ON 100% Whey.

Gainer - 60gms carbs 50ish protein (I'll sometimes add some whey) in water.

Lunch, usually a microwaveable affair like a lasagne, 40gms carbs 30gms protein 15gms fat. I'll eat some bread too at this point.

Dinner, random. Always healthy though. Chicken, potato, pasta, that kind of thing. (it's different every day so I doubt it's the problem). I'll have some green vegetables at this point too.

Mid evening I'll have some whey and some carbs, or an extra portion of dinner if available.

Pre-bedtime is the same as breakfast. Cereal and whey.

I also take a mix of creatines, taurine and arginine before working out, which I do 4-5 times a week.

So what do you think? I haven't actually farted much this evening at all, not for hours, but they smell so awful, lol. It's a bit worrying I guess, maybe there's something wrong with me?

Oh, and I've also been getting very bad indigestion ever since I came back from holiday about 6 weeks ago. Excess acid. I've been taking lots of antacid.

Hey Phil

Purchase at your local health food store a really good probiotics frormula(Acidophilus)but only from the refrigerator section and take it religiously.For the indigestion take some digestive enzymes along with every meal.Also something that works wonders is to take a tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar to relieve the heartburn right away.Good Luck and let me know how you do Phil!

Phil,
Hey man, i have had the same problem. Agree with the acidophulus. I also was wondering how much water you take in? What types of "mixtures" are you taking as well? Sometimes mixing stuff together can cause havoc on your stomach as all the artificial sweeteners can't be digested...so yea that throws a knot in things leaving you with an overactive stomach resulting in excess gas.

I bet it's the whey. Save it for pwo only and try to eat real foods instead. Also try eating some more green vegetables.

And you have lasagna for lunch every day? You do realise that lasagna classifies as "cheat meal" don't you?

Pick up a good probiotic such as Primal Defense. It's better than acidopholous because it contains about 10 different strains of healthy bacteria as opose ti just one. It will keep your intestines clean. I also fuond certain Whey's don't agree with your system. As Uriel said, try to limit it to PWO and experiment and find a good brand that agrees with your system.

Thanks for all the replies.

You know what? I've never had problems with 100% Whey until my supplier started sending me 100% Whey "Gold Standard". I think this might have something to do with it. I'm not sure what's different about it though. What brands of Whey other than ON would you recommend?

Man, I reco Muscle Milk, Syntax Nectar and Isopure. The last two wil help you out a lot as it is easier to digest, the first just tastes great

Garden Of Life Primal Defense is an excellent product!Also Dr.Weil recommends a supplement called Culturelle which is great also.
