What's the difference between a protein bar that contains 30g of protein/ 5g of carbs, and another bar that has 30g of protein/25g of carbs?!? Which one would be better to purchase?!?

I think the protein/carb ratio depends on what your going for. if you just want some extra protein then go w/ the low carb bar. but, if you looking for a bar to replace a meal, then i would say high protein and high carb.

^ what he said. If you just want some protein go get the cheapo ones from Walmart, they have good protein and low carbs.

Yeah, the only reason I want to buy some protein bars is to use them as a meal replace. So, I'll go with the 1 protein/1 carb ratio bar. Thanks Diesel.

if your eating ****loads of protein bars make sure your getting an enzyme supplement . protein bars havent been in my diet in a while , i ocassionally eat a probar which has 50 carbs and 19grams of fat , and 9 grams of protein , made of fruit blended together and mushed together , but eating half of one of those with a shake makes for a pretty good meal .

A proten bar or a protein shake that has roughtly a 30g/30g mix of protein and carbs is ideal as a post-workout supplement. A 30g/5g mix, on the other hand, is good for breakfast, dinner or to get your once-every-3-hour protein fix.

Muscle sandwhiches I think are by far the best protein bar out there, you almost feel like you're cheating because it tastes like candy. Yet, I rarely do eat these becuase the stats aren't great. One bar is as followed:

Calories: 250
Fat: 8G
Carbs: 19G
Protein: 13G
Again not the best at all but, if your'e craving candy and don't want to cheat this is a good bet.

All thr guys have been raving about these, there is a thread but here you go.

HOMEADE PROTEIN BAR RECIPE!!

Here it is...

2 cups natural peanut butter (1 hole container/16 ounces)
6 tablespoons honey
2 1/4 cups protein powder ( any will work, except it won't work with soy protein powder so i've heard)
2 cups dry (uncooked) oatmeal

Combine the peanut butter and honey in a mixing bowl and
and stir.

Microwave for 70 seconds (or longer). Add the protein powder and oatmeal, and mix
well and mix. Smoosh until flat into a 13 x 9 pan. Let sit for a while (like 10-15 min.), then cut into
TWELVE even bars and wrap in plastic wrap or do what i did and if you have a top to the 13 x 9 pan.. put that on.. then after you've waited.. EAT!! they taste absolutely DELICIOUS!! the best bar's i've tasted. very peanut buttery.. yum.. i love peanut butter.
you need the honey to make it stick better.. it doesnt really stick that good.. but fairly good. add more honey if you want it to stick more.

After you've got done consumming how much you want to. put the topping on it (lid or plastic wrap) and put it in the fridge till next time.

TRY IT!! you won't be dissapointed!!

here are the nutritional facts.

Servings size 1 Bar
Servings per recipe 12.

19 GOOD-FOR-YOU Grams of Fat. (Essential Fatty Acid's)

22 Grams of Delicious Carbs

and finally 21 grams of Muscle Building Protein!

(note: i'm sure you could at more protein powder if you choose too.. i for one can barely taste the protein powder.. with all the peanut butter (you can change the peanut butter lower, then you would have to add more honey, you need those two ingredients to make the bars stick together.)

Enjoy! and the best thing about this is NO PRESERVATIVES!! you probably dont know what the hell your consuming with all those other protein bars... and Most have PURE ADDED SUGAR.. and high fructose corn syrup.. and a heck of a lot of other $hit you dont want in your body...

i'm never buying another protein bar again!! (just pack them up on whereever you're going and eat them whenever!) :xmascheer

I have been using the MetRx Bars. I like the larger ones. The have around 320 calories, but if you are trying to get huge calories to get huge....who cares. Plus, the taste on any of them is pretty decent.
