does it not frustrate anyone else that all these kinds of food that we kind of need to eat have so much damn fat in them? i mean, even my chicken has 7 grams of fat per piece. i cant survive on just whey protein...what the hell should i be eating? im already starting to gain weight, and im pretty sure its not muscle...oh and it has to be low iron too, because my doctor needs me to go in again to check for hemochromatosis. damn hereditary disorders....

The fat in steaks and chicken is good fat. It gives you enery for your workout and throughout the day.

but what if i eat the chicken at night? doesnt that just turn into fat deposits?

Chicken breast is the best thing to eat after your workout and at night. It's also the best food to eat to cut up, but also add lean muscle mass. It's the cleanest meat you can eat next to tuna.

That's what I think too...wouldn't your body just burn it. Because the fat level is so low and it's also not bad fat.

Preferably eat extra lean-steak or extra lean-ground beef for your meal before your workout beause the fat in the meat provides you with energy. And post-workout and at night consume chicken breast.

First of all, fat doesn't make you fat, too many calories make you fat.

And 7 grams of fat is far from too much. Remember that your body needs EFAs, so you should eat some fat through the day anyway.

ahh gotcha. it just kinda freaks me out when i see all that fat content and saturated fat. my calorie intake is pretty high, but i also burn a ton i guess. how many calories do you think i burn in a pretty high intensity workout of an hour and a half or more? it consists of usually 45 minutes of lifting and an hour or more of boxing with very little break time.

instead of eating chicken breasts at night, eat some egg whites, they are dirt cheap at the grocery store, pack lots of fat free calories, and egg protein (casein) stays in your body for up to 8 hours helping keep you anabolic (muscle building state) while you sleep. Plus if you are scared of calories, each egg without the yolk only has 17 calories/no fat at all. I eat tons of them, they've helped me packed on some serious weight this past year. Don't be scared of calories though, if you are looking to pack on muscle you won't be doing it on a low-cal diet, i tried it and it doesn't work. I usually eat 4000-5000 calories a day. I put on 40 pounds of muscle in the past year on that diet, at relatively the same bodyfat.

Casein isn't egg protein. They're two different types of proteins.

yeah ive been eating eggs in the morning for long term energy. four egg whites, cereal, and protein. ive been drinking double protein shakes cuz i seriously doubt that i get the one gram of protein per pound of muscle every day. guess ill eat eggs at night now too. thanks for the info.

No it's not...casein and whey come from milk. And egg protein is from eggs. Who told you this...whoever told you doesn't know?

I just have to eat them to know the difference between casein and egg protein (specialy egg white). I'm cool with casein, but too many egg whites and I'm a walking gas bomb if you know what I'm sayin'

I know what you mean...right now I can only handle around 6 egg whites, because if I eat more, then I get all bloated. I get my casein from cottage cheese...I used to take ProM3.

yeah i started eating a lot more eggs. around 8-10 a day. especially since i can get 5 dozen for three dollars at the store.
