Does the source of the sugar for post workout matter?

After drinking my protein shake after my workouts I have yet to find any dextrose so I just eat 1 cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch to get some quick sugar. Does it matter that the sugar is coming from that?

All I really want to know is does this have any negative effects?

No, that is not a good idea. There is no substitute for dextrose.

Depends on your weight and if your bulking or cutting. I'm on a bulk and I get 50 grams post workout, which is a lot.

Where can I get dextrose from? And how is it beneficial to me?

I just ordered some Dextrose 5 min ago from BBing.com

$12.49 for 4lbs of NOW Dextrose.

Also flex, does it matter if I make my post workout shake of Dextrose & Whey or is it 100% nessescary to get the carbs from maltodextrine?

Maltodextrin is ofcourse 100% necessary, but you would be fine with just dextrose.

No mele, GNC does not carry it, and if they did they would charge $10 a pound.

I would recommend getting the Dextrose at bodybuilding.com.

$3.25 for 2lbs.

I bought (2)2lbs for $6.50 and then $5.99 shipping. Not bad at all if you ask me.

I am going to try to get some Maltodextrin later on.

I switched over to maltodextrin and dextrose and have noticed good results. Less jitters post workout also.

My Dextrose just arrived. 1 day and it was at my door which was pretty damn quick.. they must of sent it from a FL warehouse.

Anyways, I am going to start taking it today and I am going to start by using the 29.4g scoop from my ON Whey protein. Hopefully that will be enough for me to start off with it.

I currently weight about 177lbish, I am not 100% sure on how much your supposed to take but I am going to start it by just using my protein scoop and taking 29.4g of it post workout.

You don't realy *need* dextrose. All you need is some kind of high gi carb. Maltodextrin, maltose, hell, even sucrose will do (though it's not recommended because it has too much fructose, 1/2 of it to be precise, while the others are 100% glucose).

IMHO, between maltodextrin, maltose and dextrose, buy whichever is cheaper and easier to find.

Or you can just get it from real food. Back in the days when they didn't have fancy powders they ate good old meat and potatoes post workout. Never kept them from getting big.

but also back in the day, they didt have the knowledge or the kind of body's that our 's produce in todays DAYS!
