Hey guys,
I've been a naturally bodybuilder since the age of 18 i'm 38 now. It amazes me the amount of supposed "wonder-suppements" that come & go. Actually it pisses me off sometimes! You can't walk into a place like MuscleMax or GNC without some guy trying to convince you that no matter what you know; your doing it all wrong. And so many of the supplements touted as the "greatest thing ever" have never been scientifically tested using a placebo, to really find out if the product(s) work or not. Having said all this, there is alway more I can learn and I was wondering what your top 3 to 5 supplements would be (in order of importance) if you had to choose?? All this assuming your food-diet is spot on. My top 5 I guess would be: 1. Protein powder (whey isolate) 2. Glutamine 3. Multi-vitamin 4. Creatine & 5. something like Acetabolan w/acetyl-L-Carnitine. Maybe I'm a little off who know. Maybe someone with far more knowledge than me can help. Thanks!

1. Whey Protein
2. Creatine
3. Fish Oil
4. Multi-vitamin
5. Dextrose / Waxy Maize (I know some people wouldn't classify this as a supplement, but rather as part of nutrition but I do)

Hi,
I put up a post earlier about what ya'all thought was the top 4 or 5 most important supplements out there for natural bodybuilders. Several put up fish oil & I've never tried it. I've been a natural bodybuilder for almost 20 yrs and found few things that actually work. Would someone mind telling me more about their experience with fish oil including type & dose? If it does work I'd like to maybe add it to my supplement list. Thanks

I've been using Fish Oil for years now for a couple of reasons. Firstly the benefits on teh body's joints are great and it helps to lower cholesterol. That being said i've actually started using Krill Oil as of about 3 days ago. My sore shoulder/upper pec pain has reduced in that time. Whether or not it's the Krill Oil or me being careful I don't know. I'd go for a bit of both. One Krill Oil tablet has the power of approx 12 Fish Oil tablets.

I don't really use supplements that much. You really need any as everything is available from normal food. However I have used weightgain drinks in the past which were useful at the time as I struggled to eat anough but I don't have that problem now, I guess I am just used to eating more now.

I have used creatine but could not work out if it worked or if it was mental. Might try that again in the future. Currently I use protein drinks which I have before and after my workouts along with some banana's. Also I take a multivitamin.

If I want to get my self psyched up for a workout I will have a drink similar to red bull, tesco make it, it's called kick. If I don't have that available but feel the need for a boost I will drink a few cups of coffee.

Some supplements can be used to help but you shouldn't feel that you 'need' them. I would say at least 90% of supplements on the market are a big con and total waist of money.

whey
coffeine
creatine
betaine and cittruline (I think- its in horse power, purple wraath and more. it gives me tingilng feeling under the skin, starts on the face and spreadst to trained muscle group)

BTW. fish oils give me HORRIBLE acne, especially on the face, hard deep inflamation and also it hurts. so i stopped using any omegas etc.... (im 24 so its not part of growing up)
any ideas why?

^^ it's probably the beta alanine giving you the tingling feeling, never tried purple wraath but the ingredients look solid.

My list:
1-Protein (whey, casein, egg)
2-Creatine Mono
3-MultiVit
4-Waxy Maize/ Malto
5-Green Tea Extract/ Caffeine

After that I like Beta Alanine, ALA, BCAA, Leucine

PGHP-8 growth hormone production stimulator, GnRHs (sequence) testosterone booster, 3laO Protein synthesis enhancer and ERP-DI1 Energy Releasing Peptide.

These products are the latest in peptide R&D, PGHP-8 was originally pGH and later pGHt (transdermal). It has been one of the most effective supplements on the market in the past eight years. There are unbiased reviews on message boards everywhere... Users have lost body fat and gained lean tissue with injuries and not training. Competitive bodybuilders say they are able to get leaner and more vascular then ever and some won't get ready for a show without it.

The feedback on the other products is still coming in and FREE samples are available fr those that are willing to run a log sharing their experience.

Whey
Nobody needs anything else.

Glycobol would be the only thing justifiable, seeing as how you can eat more carbs while leaning out.

the perfect stack is

1.Whey Protein ------- recovery product
2.Creatine (with NO)--- Pre workout
3.Creatine Ethyl Ester-- Post workout
4.Multi vitamin -------- For Joints

And the most important of them all "DIET" , the diet consisting of "high Protein" "less Carbs" "Zero Fat"

There is no shortcut to success, success can be acheived through "Hardwork, Dedication and Faith in God"

Yeah, I heard that as well, anyone who purchased Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) it is a dead product- there are studies now that prove there is no change with supplementation of CEE, but excellent results with Creatine Mono!
