I run 3 miles 5 days a week. I do at least 1 hour in the gym 5 days a week, my diet is great 5 days a week I weigh 90 kilos on Monday morning and by Friday, I weigh 86 kilos(appx 180lbs) I put on 4 kilos every weekend. That's like 9Lbs. I am saying every weekend for the past 2 years.

I can't break the cycle because I can't not eat chocolate or buy chocolate or other crap when I'm in a shop and I only visit shops at the weekend. There is nothing in my brain that says I shouldn't with any persuasiveness and every Monday, I feel like I've blown yet again.

Does anyone have any suggestions please, I am in deep trouble.

Background:
[*]I am happy with all parts of my body (especially my arms) except my abs which of course, is down to eating crap at weekends.
[*]I gave up drinking alcohol 4 years ago except for the very odd occasion.[*]I gave up smoking over 2 years ago when I started bodybuilding properly.[*]I am 5'6"[*]I am older than 39 years and that's where I'm staying.
I do not have a problem with dieting in the week

It's obviously a mental thing, any serious advice would be appreciated?

I know, I know. I don't understand how I can give up smoking afer years (which believe me was really hard) but not be able to control my chocolate habit. I feel stupid about it.

I am a Londoner who got into fights and hung around with all the wrong people and had a tuff upbringing with not allot of money but held my own and my head held high but this chocolate thing is beating me mentally. Appreciate your comment though.

You know that sounds the right thing to do. Take myself out of the situation that leads me into the initial purchase. I need to diary a note not to go to the shops on Friday nights which is my usual shopping trip. Maybe buy everything on line.

Thanks Dude!

Instead of giving up your love for chocolate, try to switch it from chocolate bars to chocolate protein shakes or chocolate milk. You will have to use self control as well. And plus you can really get creative with it and make chocolate pudding with the chocolate protein shake powder and it will taste really good. Sprinkle cinnamon in it and it will satisfy your sweet tooth while keeping you on track for loosing weight!

Thanks man, this is great. Get creative with chocolate protein is really good advice. I shuld have thought of it. I already add a spoon (25g) to my porridge with water every morning and your right, perhaps freeze some, make some oat cakes with chocolate protein. Good stuff. Someone has also said to keep celery in the fridge to put peanut butter in for a snack instead of gong after the chocolate.

Thanks again dude!

That's the difficault part Kaboom, I have decided I am going to see a phyciatrist on 21st July. Just writing about it i here and receiving feedback has made me realise it's anaddition. You saying learn self control means I obviously need help so this is what i am going to do.

By the way, great picture dude, reminds me of Frank McGrath.
