NO Products contain the amino acid arginine (along with other ingredients, generally stimulants), which is readily converted by the body into Nitric Oxide (N.O.). They don't actually contain nitric oxide at all, get this straight! Nitric Oxide is a vasodilator, that is they will cause your blood vessels to vasodilate allowing your active muscles to receive more of the blood flow. Granted, the body already has natural vasodilation activities occurring on its own without having to use supplemental arginine (lactic acid does cause vasodilation, as well as Carbon Dioxide production from glucose being broken down to fuel muscular contractions); so using supplemental arginine to cause vasodilation may not be the best choice to use of your resources (i.e. money).
Increased blood flow beyond what is normal (i.e. by using a nitric oxide product) will have little to no result in terms of increasing the effectiveness of your workout. It will not directly cause you to lift more weight or anything along the lines of increasing muscle mass.
The biggest thing with Nitric Oxide products are the placebo effects that come with it, and sometimes it is worth it for you to buy it even knowing that it will not directly increase the effectiveness of your workout. Practically all of the nitric oxide products contain stimulants, and combining with the subjects hope that it will scientifically increase their workout, will end up resulting in a better workout.
I am not bashing it, but if your workouts are getting boring and dragging on and on, investing in a nitric oxide product is a good option. If they aren't, I see no reason why to invest in it. |
