I've seen someone (sorry can't remember who) mention clearing receptors by taking an OTC allergy medication to maximize the effects of creatine and nitric oxide. Could someone provide information on this? I have taken creatine in the past and cycled off of it for a month, but the effects are not as strong still. I am also taking a NO supp for the first time, but the effects are barely noticeable. You think it might have something to do with the receptors? Thanks guys. Hopefully that all made sense ha.

While their is no proven studies showing that this will work, you can use Benadryl to help to try to clean out your receptors. I like to cycle off an NO for about 3-4 weeks, and use Benadryl during that period, and I feel it works, can't say if its more the cycled time off or the Benadryl, but as I said it has worked for me when used like that.

Appreciate it allstar. You take the Benadryl everyday for the 3-4 weeks? I would probably have to take it at night b/c of the drowsiness.

I take it for about 2 weeks, of the 3-4 weeks cycled off, usually the first week and last week. Yeah I take it at night, that **** knocks me out.

So is benadryl like a generic cleaner in a way?. Always hear it for ECA cleanings or usage of clen, never heard it before for creatine.

From what I know it is used for anything receptors, now I don't know receptors, but I have heard it won't work to clear a few of them.

It might work for some things, but as for creatine I don't think so because i don't think it uses receptors.

...I could be wrong though. And also dont forget to account for the placebo effect, taking benadryl and just thinking its going to do something may actually have that effect.

Creatine receptors? hmmmmmm

Anyway, the antihistamine properties of Diphenhydramine are know to keep beta-receptors happy. As far as I know, this will have no effect on creatine but it may help if you use stimulants.

Creatine does not work with Beta receptors in the body. Using Bendryl to upgrade these receptors would not have any positive effect on the effectiveness of creatine supplementation.

Benadryl for long periods of time for whatever reason does more harm than good, trust me on that one. When you start loading up on OTC drugs for colds, flu, allergies, etc. you are not doing your body any favors.

If you want to clean anything out, anything, just hold off on the sups for a while and drink a crap load of water, eat clean, and get rest. It's natural and it's what the body wants.

Surely the OP was talking about N.O. products and not creatine.

Personally, I don't think it works for N.O. products anyway. Just taking a month off seems to make it work better after going through a tub or two. My 2 cents.
