Ok so when i'm at parties with friend at someones house i usually take a shake and hide it there for my 9 o clock meal. Gulp it down and take the container home.

But when i'm proper OUT like on the streets or somewhere that i don't have the facilities the last thing i wanna do is miss a meal.

Seeing as summer is coming up and ill be out with friends alot doing various things i NEED to get some protein bars and readymade protein drinks really. So i can't miss meals.

I was wondering what the most affordable ones are without compromising quality.

EAS myoplex storm bars are insanely great tasting but a little bit on the expensive side.

What do you think i should buy?

Thanks in advance for all your help guys.

i dont like the bars cause there is massive amounts of fat that does nothing for me in it (saturated)....or atleast all the ones i have seen do.....it really hard to do what your trying to do lol its funny really cause i can imagine you going filling up your shaker and hiding while trying to take your shake lol im not the "party" type at all so i dont have the problem but i guess all you can do is throw some protein and maybe some oats in a bottle and carry it with you.....

I have no problem at parties and stuff because i can put it somewhere. But this summer i'm going to be going out alot in the evenings with friends to places and can't carry things around only in my pockets. This is where bars OR RTD's come in handy. What about things like maxi-milk by maximuscle? Do other companies make things like this?

Not sure if it would help but I know Muscle Milk has gotten pretty mainstream, You can buy serving-size bottles of it at gas stations now. Maybe you could grab a couple of those and stuff em in your jacket??

the maximuscle bars are good but the only problem is the price shop near me sells cyclone £2.50 for 1 bar!!!! they are low in fat/saturates thou. i would probs buy a weightgainer if ur on a bulk or if ur cutting just get some whey the cheapest one ive saw is prolab isolate 19.99 for 2.27kg on most sites but if ur out during the day just go to subway and tbh u shouldnt be out on the night if ur serious about bodbuilding.

Oh, no i really don't care about subtlety atall man, i wouldnt care if it said "MONSTER MASS PROTEIN LOSER BAR" on it as long as it's what i needed i'd eat it. It's just ease of use tbh. Being able to pocket it until when i need my little fix of protein :)

Just looking for the most affordable best brands. It's quite difficult. Alot of bars are around £20 for 12. That's quite alot :/

Ah the UK, just get a few packs of Scotch Eggs then?

Nah seriously though, I think the cheapest way would be to make your own protein bars, there are many recipes on the internet, I think most of them use whey protein and egg proteins.....

What about bringing along a backpack? Could put some shaker cups and some bars or even sweet potatoes in there easily.

I really like Cliff bars. There's probably better stuff out there nutritionally, but they taste great and their all natural. Just figured if your gonna carry around a couple bars or a shake you might as well put it in a backpack. Hope you've got some big pockets.

Yeh that's why i want bars or a RTD so i can drink/eat it and not have a shaker cup rattling around with me, just wanna throw the wrapper in the bin and carry on.

you can always stop and eat somewhere dude i been going crazy with this to. I got a small lunch bag with straps to carry with me but if I'm out like in new york or something you can always get a chicken salad somewhere at least.
Look into some amino's acids to at least hold you over till you can eat.

This was already mentioned, but bring a back pack and stuff some tub-a-ware containers with sandwhiches and other clean food in them. I do this all the time, I work at a gym and I am a student so I might be gone for 10 hours at a time so I just figure out how many meals I need and bring them.

I know you already said you don't want to bring along a backpack for what ever reasons, but your best bet for growing (cutting or bulking) is always going to be food and not RTD's or protein bars. I would highly recommend to avoid those and just bring a back pack or some other bag with all your food and supplements in it.

I must agree with Packn the EAS Myoplex shakes are a great idea. We would by them by the cases when I was back in Iraq. There not that big and they taste great, except when they`ve been sitting in a truck and its 115 degrese outside! lol But in alreality if you cant pick up the MuscleMilk RTD`s then go with the EAS.

Dude to be totally honest, protien bars are nothing more than glorified candy bars. Really...and RTDs are just way to damn expensive considering just doing the powder/shaker method. I would say suck it up like everyone else and carry around a backpack with snacks and whatnot that youll need for the time out.
