Hi,

I just joined the gym and want to take some whey protein to bulk up

i've done a bit of research and found that BSN syntha-6 and optimum whey 100% are the best

but i don't know which will be suitable for me

i go to the gym 3 times a week if that helps

also can somebody recommend some places in the uk where i can get it from (online or instore)

just depends on how much you want to spend. Syntha6 is actually a blend of a few proteins so its not soley whey like optimum. Syntha6 tastes amazing but overall they are both good proteins.

you need to understand that protein powder is not the magic bullet so to speak for bulking up, bulking up has more to do with your diet, increase your total intake of carbs/protein and fats, protein powder will help but your success in bulking is going to come from whole foods, chicken breast/tuna/brown rice/ oatmeal.. you know regular foods, the protein powders should be used pwo like Whey and then casein protein powder at night if you prefer that over cottage cheese,

these are true life events. I get these questions all the time. its not very common when ive gotten asked what or how is my diet in the gym lol.

yea i hear ya prime, i was helping a guy out from work, and he was so set on using a PH because he just could not put on any muscle, so i asked him what he ate a day and it came out to be around 1,200 calories.. tried to set him straight but ended up being a waste of my time since he went the PH route and still didnt increase his daily food intake,, go figure no gains using the PH either,, must be just bad genetics.. lol

i decided to get ON 100% gold standard

im also looking to get a weight gainer, is it okay to take ON Gold standard with a weight gainer? if so which is the best weight gainer to get. (only want to use it for about a month)

i`m not actually a big fan of weight gainers myself, but you can certainly take them both through out the day, bsn makes excellent products so i would just shop around and see which ones have the best cost to serving ratio

There's nothing wrong with gainers IMO, but most of them have very high amounts of sugar and they can add unwanted fat rather quickly if you don't have a very clean diet, which is fat you'll ultimately want to cut later on so.. might as well make it easy on yourself now right? It's up to you though, food of course is #1.

Well yep, I guess I did contradict myself. Since I have used gainers in the past while keeping a relatively clean diet I had no problem cutting some fat, my metabolism is super fast though.
