This is mostly for those who are interested in the product Phenadrine by APS with regards to weight lose. This will not be a log as I personally do not like logs, but I will post my results in here for those to see when they are interested in purchasing a fat burner they know that at least this one works (DON'T FORGET THE DIET!).

Here is Mikeh40+'s original APS Phenadrine log which is what made me decide to go with Phenadrine and not the other fat burner I was thinking of, Meltdown.

I went from 11.6% bodyfat on January 12th to 10.1% bodyfat as of February 13th, which I am extremely happy with as it has been to date my fastest progress I have made.

Here is my starting picture at 11.6% body fat:

Here I am now at 10.1% body fat:

Here are my stats from each measurement:
Total Body Weight: 201.0 lbs .............. 193.0 lbs
Body Fat Percent: 11.6% ................... 10.1%
Body Fat: 23.316 lbs ......................... 20.23 lbs
Lean Body Mass*: 177.684 lbs ......... 172.77 lbs

Caliper Recordings
Chest: 4mm ..................................... 5.5mm
Triceps: 9mm ................................... 9mm
Subscapula: 14mm ............................ 11mm
Axilla (Midaxillary): 7.5mm .................. 9mm
Suprailium: 12.5mm ........................... 9.5mm
Abdomen: 17mm ............................... 13.5mm
Thigh: 11mm .................................... 11mm

*Reduction in Lean Body Mass. It is for this recording that I am "scratching my head", I must of had water weight on me at the original recording or my results are becoming more accurate or something, but I am going to increase my calories so that it can help me with making sure that I am not losing muscle mass however keep the increase in calories somewhat at a minimal so I still lose weight. I should also mention that I did not see a strength decrease at all, infact I did "up my weights" so to say; although there are days when my stomach is growling and I don't have another meal for one hour but I am sipping on BCAA's to hopefully "safe guard" my muscle.

Diet for the last 4 weeks:

Normal Day
295 grams of protein
100 grams of carbohydrates (15% breakfast, 35% preworkout, 20% workout shake, 20% postworkout)
60 grams of fat
2,120 kCalories

Refeed Day (Once a week)
505 grams of Protein
150 grams of carbohydrates (15% breakfast, 35% preworkout, 20% workout shake, 20% postworkout)
20 grams of fat
2, 800 kCalories

Supplements (incase you were wondering):
Whey Protein
Casein Protein
Fish & Flax Seed Oil
Creatine Monohydrate
Beta-alanine
BCAA's (Xtend)
Multi-vitamin
Phenadrine

excellent results, the increase in your lifts is probably due to the effects of the phenadrine, it has some muscle building ingredients in the mix also, i`m very happy my phenadrine thread gave you some ideas on fat loss supplements, keep your log going, it helps reinforce what i had gone though with my phenadrine thread, by the way i`m starting my cut diet again and have some phenadrine ready to go.. keep it rolling dude your doing great,

I will mostly post my results in this thread everytime I get my bodyfat test done with regards to me taking Phenadrine. The next week or two I will take off of Phenadrine, still hit the gym and diet hard and clean (okay I admit it, tonight I did have pizza as a cheat meal; I haven't cheated for 6 weeks) so progress is kept optimal and I will also modify my diet and probably incorporate two refeed days into my diet being that I am boderline 10%.

where did you get your refeed numbers for the protein and carbs from?
it looks like your protein is very high and your carbs are very low, here is a guideline for refeed days, your carbs should be increased and your protein should be at 1 grm per pound of body weight for refeed days,

Re-Feed Days Should Be Planned As Follows:
• Re-feed on the day you work your worst body part(s) as re-feeding will not only raise leptin, but be quite anabolic.
• Keep fat as low as possible during re-feed days as high insulin levels will increase dietary fat transport into adipose tissue. In addition dietary fat has little to no impact on leptin levels.
• Reduce protein intake to 1 g/lb bodyweight.
• Consume as little fructose as possible as fructose does not have an impact on leptin levels.
• Increase calories to maintenance level (or above if you are an ectomorph) and increase carbs by at least 50-100% (endo's stay on the low end, while ecto's should stay on the high end) over normal diet levels.

Freak helped me with both my normal days and refeed days, sent him a PM with help to adjust my diet but haven't heard back yet.

Also going off those guidelines that Layne wrote in his article, it would be nutritionally impossible for me to hit my maintenance level in calories (maintenance... 14 x body weight = 14 x 193 = 2,702 calories). Why? Because:
  • I am an Endomorph, so according to those guidelines I should only increase my carbs by 50% or just a little higher... so 150 grams of carbohydrates = 600 kCalories from Carb's
  • Reduce my Protein Intake to 1g/lb bodyweight, so 193lb x 1g protein/lb bodyweight = 193g protein = 772 kCalories from protein
  • I should not increase my dietary fat intake because (a) it has no effect on leptin and (b) with high-insulin levels it will be converted into bodyfat.
  • So this means from my carbohydrate and protein intake following these guidelines I am only going to get in 1,372 kCalories where I still need 1,330 more kCalories!! Where does it come from? According to these guidelines I cannot increase my fat and my protein and carbohydrate intake are already set.

The way how Freak explained it to me was that Leptin will be secreted because of the vastly increased calorie intake for the day. But trust me Mike, It really felt odd eating 505 grams of Protein on my refeed days for the last month... first time I did it I felt like I was going to puke especially when you start off your day by eating 498 grams of eggbeaters!

Thanks for the feedback.

Many users notice an increase in strength due to the testosterone mimetic effects of the Icariin.

Hmmm I sent Freak the message on Friday and now its Sunday with no signs of hearing back from him so I might just end up going with the numbers for my regular and refeed days that Layne set me up with a while ago (did a slight modification to them to account for the 10 pound decrease in bodyweight between then and now); it is a higher calorie intake over all with most of it coming from carbohydrates.

I have always believed myself to be an endomorph but I will try this for a month and worst case I put on bodyfat, but I never know as I might "strike gold".

Also I am going to take the next two weeks off of Phenadrine, then use it for three weeks; so another official "update" to this thread in five weeks, along with the new diet, two refeed days, and a new training split we will see how my body reacts!

Brent(Freak) has been around but he is very sick right now and very time tied with classes so he hasn't had to much time on his hands, once his life comes back to normalcy he will get back to you.

Haha yea thats cool, the man has a life. I still might go with Layne Norton's numbers he gave me. Because it has a higher carbohydrate intake I will play it "close to the chest" and if I feel I am gaining bodyfat I will immediately change. I will also record my dry weight once a week and see how that goes as well; but my primary method of measurement will be using my naked eye to look at progress pictures as well as my body fat test.
