buddy of mine read in a magazine that gaba the amino acid helps break the blood barrier in the brain and therefore allows for an increase in GH?

also a guard at the county jail came into GNC today and this dude is 50somethin and he is jacked. i mean stupid huge, he said he takes gaba + protein shakes 3times a day + his meals but thats it. no testboosters or anything.

my main question is anyone ever use GABA, how much did you take, and what have you heard/experienced with it?

I just started using GABA a few days ago, about a teaspoon a half hour before i go to bed. I didn't notice any immediate strength or size gains, prolly cause it was just one dose, but I noticed that I woke up feeling better than i had in a long long time. It REALLY helps promote restful sleep, and your dreams become lifelike, like everything seems more vivid and realistic. Imma see how it does in the long run for nighttime HGH production like it claims.

my buddy who read the article in the mag started his today hes taking it in capsule form though instead of a powder like im guessing you are because you said by the teaspoon.

Ive been using GABA from AST for a long time now. It mostly gives me a good night sleep which is one of the most important factors in releasing hormones including GH. Cant say for sure if its lead to success in growth but it cheap and seems postitive so why not lol

Dopamine is one of the hormones that are involved in the release of growth hormone. I forget exactly how, i have to check my endocrinology book. although to be on the safe side, GABA is a neurotransmitter, and when you supplement hormones and hormone precursors, your own body's production of them usually slows, so i would be careful about taking large amounts of GABA for long periods of time.

Well yeah I dont think its reccomended to take large amounts. From what I have seen before bed is the best time to take it. I dont know abou taking 3 times a day.

GABA is an inhibitor neurotransmitter. Being a Nutrition, Fitness, and Health Major / Dietetics, I do not see how supplementing this can "break the blood brain barrier" and even if it did, this would not be a good idea since the brain needs its own environment maintained for its needs.

Team Orbit has mentioned that GABA gave him better night sleeps which is what I would do, and sleeping is when you body spikes its growth hormone release generally around 8 hours so maybe it helps with growth hormone release by opperating this way. Granted, I would suggest saving your money for other supplements and most importantly a diet and make sure you get a good square eight solid hours of sleep for optimal growth hormone release.

i have used GABA off and on for years, the only thing i have noticed is that it helps with sleep, as far as looking jacked from GABA supplementation i highly doubt those claims, its a ok sleep aid and thats about it,
