im a bit of a dumbass to the suppliment scene so if this question is dumb im sorry haha

ive been workin out for about a year now but only just kinda had the money to buy protein. i wanna get bigger but because summer coming up in a few months (australia) i also want to cut down on the fat
ive seen the different types of proteins for bulking up or cuting but what should i take?
im scared of the bulking protein means putting on extra fat, but the cutting i wouldnt put on much muscle at all?
or is there some sort of medium protein i should take.
any help would be great

what do you meAN BY bulking protein.By all means dont buy a weight gainer.Just stay away from the ones with high carbs, sugar and fat.No muscle milk or syntha 6.
You could go with an isolate most of them are low or zero carbs.Dont taste the best but thats what i use/using to get ready for my show

Basically just look at the calories per scoop (make sure the scoop sizes are the same when comparing diff proteins) and see how many calories it has. It depends on what you want, your post is really ambiguous, you don't want to bulk but you don't want to cut. You have to make up your mind before you get into this stuff..

Protein that contains just protein (I.e. no carbs) is fine whenever your diet phase. I think the issue becomes what and when you consume and with what. You don't really want to be taking EAA other than preWO, but whey or casein is fine anytime other than this.

Mass gainers IMO are expensive junk, as you would be better off eating real food.

Leaning down is more about regulating your caloric intake and getting a good balance of nutrients. Look into keeping a food diary and work out what your daily needs are. Then start eating sub-maintenance. I'm in Aust too and am signed up for a fitness/weight loss challenge. I plan on losing a bit of flab by limiting my junk calories (non-food calories like lollies and soda) and actually doing some cardio

Eat 1.5 grams of protein per lbs of bw when cutting. Don't listen to people that say 2+ grams they're wrong. Just get whey protein. Take a scoop or 2 in the morning and 2 PWO.
