I think under construction has it nailed. Check the B vitamin content on the back of the bottle. A large dose of niacin (B-3) causes flushing in the skin and if you take enough of it or your not used to it can cause itching.
The key difference in niacin flush and histamine reaction (allergies) is that after several doses the niacin flush will be the same or less; histamine reactions get worse with each exposure to the allergen.
Use it with caution. If you ever notice that your tongue feels strange, it gets hard to swallow, or any difficulty breathing then it is likely an allergic reaction and you should seek immediate medical attention.
