I took creatine for 4 months it was only supposed to be 2, but Muscletech puts creatine in EVERYTHING every single thing they sell. Oh, but anyway so my heart started to hurt one night after drinking, so I figured it was just dehydration, because I heard that you get cramps if you don't dirnk enough. Anyway it didn't stop after a few days so I went to the doctor and he told me to stop the cycle and the chest pains went away.

So def. cycle it every 2 months I'd say take 1 off two on or vise versa.

^ Not entirely true. To my understanding when you supplement creatine it's used also as an energy source. The creatine system is the prime system involved in ATP production which is the energy source that provides short intense bursts of energy such as weight training and sprints. So the more creatine the more you can produce energy... To my understanding it's complicated, check on Calling the experts thread in the training section for more info.

It depends how much daily do you take creatin (monohydrat). It is recomended to use 4-6 weeks and then pause at least 2 weeks.

The only reason cycles are ever suggested for creatine is because "experts" believe that long term use can cause kidney problems from all the excess creatinine. Though no studies on it have ever been done.

If you take creatin for a long time there is no effect because your body gets adaptive to creatin. Also like ''Cork'' said your kidney's may give you the problems, and that is because you take a lot water during the creatin consummation.Water gives them problems.Thats why you must take a pause.

^ Like I said this is incorrect. Your body uses creatine to make ATP, an immediate energy source. This allow is a reason to take it. Plus the benefits of drawing water into the muscles. I don't think that there's any truth behind the statement that creatine becomes less effective.

Yes you are rigth, but creatin also helps your body to recover after hard training thats why you take also after training and when you dont train. He is also drawing water in your muscles, but after a long time of taking a creatin your body doesent react the same like you started. Only if you take a small ammount daily, then you dont have to make pause. If you take a lot of creatin you must make pause.

I need evidence to believe that. Do you have a study? And I'm not sure about helping muscles recover either. The reason people take it post workout is to take advantage of the insulin spike and get it to the muscles faster.

I have no study for that, but I am taking it now,and it is fifth time I am using it.I heard from a lot of bodybuilders that you must make pause while using creatin.

It's a very common thought, but a lot of bodybuilders also do a lot of stuff wrong. This doesn't prove anything.

When I know bodybuilders that eat three meals a day, I know people who never used supplements before and swear by it. I don't know why though. Just because some big guy does it doesn't mean it's right. Even Arnold did a lot of stuff wrong. It's nothing against you I'm just saying that you're providing an opinion based on people that may not know what they're saying. And I doubt these guys have anything more than heresay to back up what they say.

I can't find **** for research and who knows maybe you are right but no one can prove anything. I am positive that creatine it still at least some what effect in recovering ATP stores from creatine kinase. The phosphagen system is responsible for this which is another word for the creatine system. ATP it used for intense bursts of energy like in weight lifting and supplementing creatine to help the creatine system will thusly result in more energy for workouts.
