hey everyone, I have been using muscle milk light as a supp and on the reg muscle milk it is advised that you drink it before bed because your body goes into a catabolic state. I go to the gym after work which is later and I eat dinner which is already high in protein after the gym. So, my question is do I still need to drink the shake post workout or can I just drink it like a hour prior to lifting to support the muscles? I'm trying to cut and I know your metabolism goes down when sleeping so I dont want to convert any of that shake to fat? Any help would be appreciated and if this question has already been answered point me in the right direction please.

I workout at 5:30 P.M. and it usually ends around 7:15-7:30 with a little cardio at the end, then I go the DFAC which is only 5min away and chow down on chicken, rice, 2x 1% milk I think its milk its in some kind of arabic, maybe a little salad. Then I usually go to sleep around 10:00. Then I wake up at 0630 and run for about 20-25 min I dont like running but I heard that doing heavy squats kills your run time for a pt test. Trying to get bigger and fit at the same time aint easy.

I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago. I had to change my work out time to 7:30-9:30. I take my protein shake as soon as I get done and then before going to bed I eat 1/2 cup non fat cottage cheese or toss down a caisen shake. It seems to be working fine for me.

squatting will not hurt your running times that is incorrect ,i sprint and heavy squats and deads are a big part of my training, squats also reduce the risk of muscle injury while running--when correct recuperation times are given of course
