Does anyone else think this supplement forum is a trainwreck of nonsense? Please people do some research first on a supplement you have questions on. Every day I come on here all i see is muscletech, bsn, and gnc crap.

Kind of agree and disagree. We have members that range from beginners to true bodybuilders. I feel as if beginners do have a right to be curious and ask people with real experience what they think about certain products rather than go off of the outrageous claims made by the companies.

I wish I had found this forum years ago. It would have saved me alot of time, frustration, and money.

agree with workout guru, i think that is what makes this place so great. The ability to ask a simple question that might have already been asked without getting flamed. although it maybe frustrating i have been there and been flamed on other sites and due to that i will never go back because of the *******s that post there.

This forum is willing and ready to help out in anycase whether it be MT, BSN or gnc crap. I would rather a newb ask a simple question and be able to save them money on BS supps.

No I don't think I explained myself right... It's fine to post a question about something that you couldn't find or just plain don't understand after researching on here BUT there are the exact same questions being asked on the exact same products constantly. It crowds the board space up a lot. This is a forum not a baby sitters club the way i learned was to read and read then read some more. THEN if i still was confused or didn't get it I would make a post or pm someone to get some help.

It never hurts to ask. When i first started lifting, i only had Muscle and Fitness magazine to tell me what to take. After a lot of money and few results i learned not to believe everything you read. So i am always willing to help someone out who has no idea.

I do agree a little research on the forum would be good before someone asks the same question.

sure in all theory research then asking would be the way to go, but unfortunatly that is not how most people roll and it is up to use to either help out, which is what i like to do, or flame them and let them experience **** for themselves. i am personally ok with members not researching first then asking. ask away.

you live and you learn, its straight when you're getting advice to ask questions, but the problem is people become dependant on certain things, ie i would never really direct a question to a broad forum hoping for an answer. you need to do research on your own, from a wide variety of areas. it doesnt help though big time brands like muscletech and such all create such hype with their athletes that the newbs want and wish to look like that, so they use substances that big time brands promote losing out on so much money because they may not work. or being new the newbs use those substances wrong. its our job to lend a helping hand the right way when needed, there is no good reason to give someone wrong info, no matter what the situation is.

totally agree we do get some of the craziest questions also.A little research would help but maybe they think thay are doing their research by finding the forum and asking. It actually comes a little frustrating at times to see the same post over and over.
Thats why i wrote the thread for beginners hoping it would ease up some of it but it didnt work lol

Ok yeah I agree with that. Like there is this one thread "Someone please define HIIT for me". That's just a pain in our neck. It would take less time to type "HIIT" into a search engine than write a thread on it. They could get 50 articles on it by just typing it into google.

As far as supps go, I would be happy to answer any ?s to help members save some money. I would hate to see anyone waste their money on useless supps that do not work, but their ads are so ridiculous, newbs believe them. This is the place to talk about stuff like that.

So, again, that is why I agree and disagree.

It goes both ways. Its the nature of the beast. This forum gets thousands of hits a day you will never get rid of some of the bull**** posts but with that said all forums go through cycleing process where new members replace old. If no one asked questions and did there own research than you would have no board right? Just have to guide the guys who come on here and ask "why should I take protein?" lol reffer them to another post or just tell them to research There have been times where you really cant find info through the search. Mabey they worded it wrong.

All in all, i think there shouldnt be any discouragement against new members to post questions, but I do think that a little research to back up there question would help. I mean a post asking what is no xplode? that is very easily found with 10 seconds of research, a better sort of question would be what are the benefits of xplode/nitric oxides?

That's my take on it. That's actually me, I did a lot of research on some stuff before I found these boards but I consider a big part of my research to be asking potentially dumb questions.

Hopefully I've not been to much of a pain in the ass to youguys. :)

That post Allstar just made about Teen Supplementing is great. I wish it were here before I started flooding the boards, haha.

I totally agree with you. We get alot of the same threads over and over and it can become quite irritating especially when threads that actually need advice get no responses because there lost in the sea of pointless threads.

I think we should just make a new sticky explaining what the supps do and what newbs should get, intermediates should get and the more advanced should get. We could also add what to stay away from like the supps that dont work and the companys that overcharge etc. It would save alot of hassle for people.

I think the problem is that a lot of the information is biased that people do not know ways to research. I think these supplements are so hyped that its so hard to tell the difference between the hyped fakes and real stuff. I don't blame them for wanting real world advice. Tell me a site that is non-biased and give good eductated reviews on supps. There are some but they are few and far betwwen and also hard to find.
