So I read that taking some sort of ZMA(zinc and magnesium aspartate) is key before you go to bed.They say it promotes natural growth hormone and test levels. Has any one tried it and if so results?

Yeah it helps with sleep and helps support healthy test levels. However, I don't spend my money on the pre-made ZMA which is sort of expensive, I just buy 4 dollar bottles of zinc and magnesium and take that before bed.

ZMA does help you sleep well from my experience. I wouldn't take it by itself. I use ZMA when I am taking other products that help increase testosterone. That way ZMA just furthers the effects.

Its a good product but basicly its the Zinc that makes it effective, studys have shown slight hormone and testosterone bood for most likely 2 reasons. Depending on what product you use some of the ZMA formulas contain melatonin which will help you sleep, better REM the better the sleep and the recovery will be much better. 2nd studys show that the average male does not take in a sufficiant amount of zinc in a day, so natrualy supplementing with ZINC will increase hormones just like Multi Vitamins would if your nutrition is poor.

^this is true. I used to think that the Zinc proportions in ZMA would promote more absorption in comparison with a multivit. However, any multivit with more than 11mg of zinc (recommended daily) would fulfill this. Most decent ones have 11+mg of zinc.

The only difference I would see is that if you are taking ZMA at night, the zinc will be right before bedtime. Most people don't take there multivit right before bedtime.

zma is good for leveling out test levels and increasing protein synthesis thats what zinc does like A-Ron21 said go to ur local pharmacy and buy them seperate alot cheaper and you get more for your buck but they give you wicked nightmares lol it sucks or at least for me

Yeah i stopped taking ZMA and might give away my brand new bottle of HMB because there isnt enough evidence supporting the benefits

HMB is more suited for those who have just started training. I read an article a while back that stated HMB was more effective for beginners, who had been training for a short duration.
