so i started taking creatine last week, and i get really really thirsty, i know it gets you dehydrated but seriously, this much? i drink around 5 bottles of water at school, this is 550 mL bottles. after that i go gym and after each set i finish a whole bottle, so i drink around 8-12 bottles after that i come home and by the time i go to sleep i drink another 4 bottles, so in total i drink about 8-10 liters of water a day, this is like 2 and a half gallons i think, i am 16, is this normal? i never get too full on water, always thirsty and i have to go take a piss every 30 mins because of so much water. before i started taking the creatine this wasnt an issue..

if it matters i take 5g before workout

it says to drink atleast 120oz, 2.5 gallons is alot but thats good, when drinking that much you should piss a lot, you need water when on creatine, do not lower it lower than 1 gallon when on creatine.

IMO, 2.5 gallons is excessive. 1 gallon is sufficient, and 2 is fine.

Also, you should be taking your creatine post workout. You can take it pre and post, but if you aren't going to take it before...without a question take it post.

not really the max, because some people drink 4 gallons a day, its up to your system, how ever much gets you hydrated. everyone is different, i say hydrate yourself and than take in a little more to flush it all.

Cosign. 2 maybe, but more than that is a little excessive. Does anyone know if you actually need that much water, and trust your thirst reaction when on creatine, or will your body trigger a thirst reaction, despite you being hydrated?

Extreme excess water intakes can raise blood pressure. 2gal is a tad excessive and unnecessary imo. Remember, there's water in all food as well as the water used to mix certain supplements...like creatine.
