arginine is a critical amino acid that aids in the help of muscle growth and aids in inhibiting muscle breakdown, same as glutamine

Hate to disagree with you allstar, but that's not true. Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid, and for adults it's considered nonessential. Unless you have something wrong with you, there really is no need to take in extra arginine, your body already produces its own supply. Any extra arginine needed is gotten through the foods we already eat. After taking arginine products, I'm inclined to agree with the study too. Muscle growth just didn't seem noticeable, versus the times I've just used creatine or nothing at all.

I think it's best to go sans arginine supplementation and not take any chances with one's muscle building goals. Just my two cents.

This is 100% correct. I've posted before that arg helps insulin maybe a bit but that's all. No GH, no vascularity or dilation, nothing. It's just a marketing gimmick. Any and all studies posted have mostly been massive doses of IV arg and you cannot even come close to those levels orally because of the 3/4 lack of bio-availability and the gastric upset it causes at doses 10-30g+.
