Title says it all, I am wondering if just 1 serving of BSN's cellmass is able to cause an insulin spike post workout or if you should mix some extra form of dextrose / maltodextrin to get an insulin spike. Quoting the supplement facts from bodybuilding.com....

7g of carbs is nowhere near enough the amount of carbs you need. I shoot for 30% of my daily carbs pwo, 15% immediatley after my wo (30g) and 15% when i get home in the form white rice or bread

Thrown in some dextrose or waxy maize starch

Will do, been hearing good things about "waxy maize starch". One thing, do you buy it at a grocery store or where?

Ah got it, next time I order some supplements I will do that (granted you can tell I just get Cellmass and a few tubs of protein powder so it won't be for a while).

Just making sure, I can just take a form of dextrose / maltodextrin like powerade mix or honey and it will still work just not as well, right?

get a maltodextrin or some other supp if u wanna add it in with your post workout shake.

honey has glucose and fructose. fructose replenishes liver glycogen but not muscle glycogen. they're about equal in amounts, but wouldn't u like to make it easier to just replenish muscle glycogen?

powerade could work although it does also contain fructose, but the glucose in it should surfice for a mild insulin spike, that's all you need really, just a slight insulin spike to block cortisol and other catabolic compounds from breaking down proteins.
