Hey,
Just wondering how healthy cheese is for a bodybuilding diet? for example turkey or grilled chicken on whole wheat or low carb bread with some cheese, should I stop eating cheese all together when trying to get cut? The fat free cheese tastes disgusting ......

cheese will be good choice either your'e cutting or bulking .. i prefer lowfat in bulk phase and fat free in cut .. and it would be better to use it before bed cause it has a slow digestion protain beinf absorbed to ur muscle for a long time while u sleeping .. i'd rather to stick with cottage cheese .. the forum have couples of theard of this kind of cheese and you may make a search to see it :)

I'd avoid cheese as much as possible, unless it's cottage cheese. And if you're trying to cut, I'd pass on bread if possible. Get your carbs from oats, rice, potatoes, vegetables, etc. But if you can't part with bread, stick with whole grain (not whole wheat).

tech 9 I use the whole wheat, sometimes low carb multi grain bread , that okay?

yeah, use bread that is Whole Grain, but eat bread in moderation. bread shouldn't be a main source of carbohydrates (Im not saying yours is, but I am just telling you).

I've never had "low carb" bread before, so Im not sure exactly whats in it.

why bread shouldn't be the prime source of carbs ? .. i use the whole grain bread .. and it's free of suger and no added fat

Ideally, all of your carbs would come from less processed sources (oatmeal, wild rice, yams, etc.) because they are slower digesting/higher in fiber. Low carb bread usually has something in it that really ups the fiber ( I wanna say wheat gluten, but Im not sure) As a side note....the other day for a cheat meal, I ate a low carb pizza......used FF cheese, tomatoe slices instead of sauce, etc, but I ended up eating the whole thing, and it was like 55 grams of fiber. Needless to say, I had stomach issues for the next 24 hours.

technically, yeah. Anything not in its natural state is (the process is the adding of ingredients, making into dough, baking, etc ). If you look at the ingredient label, youll find ferrous sulfate, vinegar, soy flour, yeast, or a bunch of similar stuff. Try thinking of it this way....its a good choice, but there are better. For oats, you start with wild oats. Then you have that steel cut oatmeal that takes forever to cook. Then you have rolled oats, then instant oats, then the quaker packets, with flavorings. You should try and eat as far up the ladder as you can. Yeah, the quaker packets are better than white bread, but there are better chocies on the same ladder.Hope that helps

The best for you is the steel cut stuff that takes like an hour to cook---the problem is that you have to plan ahead an hour, or soak it the night before. I have that and just some "Country choice multi grain hot cereal". Its rye, barley, oats and wheat, with 1.5 grams of fat, 29 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. Ill make steel cut if I think ahead, the other if I dont. Honestly, most oatmela besides the instant packets (too much sugar, although plain would be better) is alright, just find something you will eat consistently.

Yeah, thats fine. I think I overanalyzed the question a bit What I meant was that overall in your diet, strive for as close to natural/unproccessed as you can get. For all of your food choices, strive for as good as you can get. Whole grain bread is the best of the bread choices, just not the best of overall carb sources. Oatmeal is a great source of carbs, (as long as it isnt flavored packets) Were talking a 1-2 % difference among the types of oatmeal listed above---it was just to illustrate the processed point.
