So I made a thread a little while ago about non-hormonal test boosters, and after reading a lot about it i've decided not to try novadex-xt or 6-oxo, because I am 21, and I really don't think I need it. Instead, I ordered some stuff online with some birthday money I got last week. Basically the purpose of this stack is to increase my recovery time. I am thinking about also including ON's tribulus in this stack, since I got decent results from that, but probably not, because it usually
Anyways, I ordered...

ON Nitric Boost - 180 tabs
ON Vassive CE - 2 tubs
Super Cissus - 90 caps

It was a toss up between the nitric boost, MRI NO2 and Nitrix, but since NO2 and Nitric Boost are literally the same exact ingredient, I opted for ON knowing that they provide high quality stuff. I also considered taking Molecular Nutrition's X-Factor, but it is expensive and I haven't been able to find many reviews.

Befor you do all of that, have u maxed out what u can do naturally? like has ur diet been on mark for the past few years and have u trained and basically maxed ur body out? Tribulus is going to help either way. If u have, then go with the ON supps because they work well and are cheaper. I used to take N.O. Xplode and Nitrix and those are amazing. Those IMO work the best. But you have to do what's best for you. KM could probably tell you some great things about supps cuz he knows a lot for how young he is, and Freak IMO is the man to go for nutrition unless you talk to Layne first.

Just keep up a good diet. These are supplements for a reason.

Happy lifting!

why tribulus is a waste of time and money: *studies from pubmed*

Tribulus terrestris is an herbal nutritional supplement that is promoted to produce large gains in strength and lean muscle mass in 5-28 days (15, 18). Although some manufacturers claim T. terrestris will not lead to a positive drug test, others have suggested that T. terrestris may increase the urinary testosterone/epitestosterone (T/E) ratio, which may place athletes at risk of a positive drug test. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of T. terrestris on strength, fat free mass, and the urinary T/E ratio during 5 weeks of preseason training in elite rugby league players. Twenty-two Australian elite male rugby league players (mean +/- SD; age = 19.8 +/- 2.9 years; weight = 88.0 +/- 9.5 kg) were match-paired and randomly assigned in a double-blind manner to either a T. terrestris (n = 11) or placebo (n = 11) group. All subjects performed structured heavy resistance training as part of the club's preseason preparations. A T. terrestris extract (450 mg.d(-1)) or placebo capsules were consumed once daily for 5 weeks. Muscular strength, body composition, and the urinary T/E ratio were monitored prior to and after supplementation. After 5 weeks of training, strength and fat free mass increased significantly without any between-group differences. No between-group differences were noted in the urinary T/E ratio. It was concluded that T. terrestris did not produce the large gains in strength or lean muscle mass that many manufacturers claim can be experienced within 5-28 days. Furthermore, T. terrestris did not alter the urinary T/E ratio and would not place an athlete at risk of testing positive based on the World Anti-Doping Agency's urinary T/E ratio limit of 4:1.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the current study is to investigate the influence of Tribulus terrestris extract on androgen metabolism in young males. DESIGN AND METHODS: Twenty-one healthy young 20-36 years old men with body weight ranging from 60 to 125 kg were randomly separated into three groups-two experimental (each n=7) and a control (placebo) one (n=7). The experimental groups were named TT1 and TT2 and the subjects were assigned to consume 20 and 10 mg/kg body weight per day of Tribulus terrestris extract, respectively, separated into three daily intakes for 4 weeks. Testosterone, androstenedione and luteinizing hormone levels in the serum were measured 24 h before supplementation (clear probe), and at 24, 72, 240, 408 and 576 h from the beginning of the supplementation. RESULTS: There was no significant difference between Tribulus terrestris supplemented groups and controls in the serum testosterone (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 15.75+/-1.75 nmol/l); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 16.32+/-1.57 nmol/l); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 17.74+/-1.09 nmol/l) (p>0.05)), androstenedione (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 1.927+/-0.126 ng/ml); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 2.026+/-0.256 ng/ml); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 1.952+/-0.236 ng/ml) (p>0.05)) or luteinizing hormone (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 4.662+/-0.274U/l); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 4.103+/-0.869U/l); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 4.170+/-0.406U/l) (p>0.05)) levels. All results were within the normal range. The findings in the current study anticipate that Tribulus terrestris steroid saponins possess neither direct nor indirect androgen-increasing properties. The study will be extended in the clarifying the probable mode of action of Tribulus terrestris steroid saponins.

**note both studies are done on young males... all though the study groups are small... the findings IMO are still relavent, if it didnt work for a few guys regardless of any other outside influences then i'd say its credible**

Thanks... i just feel bad that supp companies hype up bull**** products and unfortunetly there are people who fail to research for themselves and buy the **** unknowingly. (edit: my next adventure whenever i get the time is finding a way to disprove NO product's overall affectiveness... because thats another one that i think is full of overhyped bull****)

Zack - No, I definitely have not maxed out naturally. I have a good diet, eating clean every 3 hours or so depending on my class schedule each day. My reason for getting these supps was to have something to give me a little bit of a boost through the semester because usually I am more stressed out, don't get to sleep as much and can't always eat right. For the most part I am eating on schedule but sometimes things get messed up and I end up getting a protein bar and some bananas at the convenience store.

Jake - Thats interesting man, thanks for the info. When I took tribulus before I measured its effectiveness by the fact that the acne on my shoulders increased slightly. It was never a really noticable difference other than that. I usually look at the amount of acne on my shoulders as a rough indicator of my test levels, because for me, whenever I am spot on with my diet, sleeping, and training, I get way more of it on my shoulders than normal. When I lose sleep, get sick, etc. it goes away. Sounds weird, but I feel like its an indicator of my test levels.

If your super stressed out you might think about getting an anti-cortisol.

If your looking to increase your recovery time then you should think about BCAAs to help your muscles from going catabolic while working out.

Im glad to hear that your reading through logs to find reviews as that is probably the best way to figure out what might/might not work ( best way as always is to try for yourself )

Why are you looking to increase recovery time (j/w) - is your routine sport specific?

I've used cort-bloc before (by muscle link) and it seemed to work pretty well. The super-cissus I just bought it supposed to help block cortisol.
I have used BCAA's (Purple wraath by controlled labs) but I don't have the money to consistently buy it. I bought the current stack with birthday money.
Finally, yeah, I try to research stuff when I have time but I ususally don't have time, at least during the semester.
Training isn't sport specific, just bodybuilding routines and diet although I don't plan on competing soon. I do play competitive paintball nationally (hence my avatar -thats me!) but I don't have to stick to a specific training regimine for that.
