been using this for a month during my cardio sessions and also at different points in the day. Scivation continues to put out quality products props to Marc and his crew. Tastes great and recovery time has decreased dramtically. My body is ready for punishment every day and in part to this product.

I agree I live by the stuff, use 6 scoops in water during workout. It is the one thing that has helped with my recovery time.

this product has amino acids so it is diff. from whey pro and your carb/sug (dex). I got grape the thing i love about it is you can drink it all day long and it tastes good so it is not a chore. Trust me, i have experimented with lots of products...even puttin extra l-glut in my whey shake after lifting and this product is on top. if your like me i needed sumthin besides water to sip on during my 1 hour cardio after heavy lifting. it helps my endurance and recovery and i save my whey and dextrose for after all that.

i take nothing before cardio so that I am burning off stored energy and not what sitting in my stomach. But it is a good product, not knocking it, but I only drink some water during cardio, but not much, just enough to make sure I don't dehydrate.

Amino acids are the building blocks to protein. All proteins contain it, just not with a high enough does. In order for the full of effect of BCAA's to kick in, they need to be taken strictly in high doses.

So his point was miss worded. It contains even MORE BCAAs, not just BCAAs in general, because my whey has that.

Also, what are high amounts? I eat plenty of meats and lots of protein. Do i really need to supplement with BCAAs to get an appropriate amount? Or are we just going overboard like most multi-vitamins, which is really a just in case amount.

I know there are about 8 essential amino acids.

Okay, after looking at the break downs of both Xtend and ON 100% Gold Standard blah blah blah, it has about 1 gram more of Leucine, otherwise the difference between the other two "BCAA"s is about 700 mg total.

Considering i have more than one serving of this whey protein per day, i dont see how a single serving of Xtend is gunna make a huge difference when we just consider the BCAAs and the fact that i am currently taking Whey while working out.

i think what the others were trying to say is that by consuming pure amino acids they dont have to compete with all the BS during digestion. So regardless of whether there are more or less in your whey, Xtend is more readily absorbed (edit: my bad), thus making the dose more effecient.

I'm pretty sure there are 23 or so Amino Acids. 8-9 are E (Essential) Amino Acids (found in food or supplement in order to obtain). NE (Nonessential) Amino acids are recurring in the body.

Bottled Amino acids are not digested. They run quickly through the stomach and into the small intestine, then rapidly into the Bloodstream.

BCAA's therefore, contain higher doses of certain Amino acids. You may have more in your protein. But Amino acid supplements contain 0g of protein. That's the difference, I'm pretty sure. The supplements contain only the valuable ones. Ex:, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine. Each taken in 5000mg each. Protein does not contain that high of dosing.

I dont know any supplement that has over 4 grams of a single BCAA.

I can see what your saying about the proteins maybe getting in the way, though this particular shake i make is combined with any other super-fast absorbing carbohydrate. Whey digests pretty quickly as well.

I hope no one takes this as me trying to be annoying. Im just asking questions and trying to learn something, and im pretty thorough about it.

Are you cutting or bulking? You should be taking Fast digesting carbs with your shake anyway. 5000mg split between the 3 I mention, Frosty.

Im cutting right now, but my diet isnt quite set.

Also, ON's Gold Standard has 5.5 grams of BCAAs per serving.

But the other points stand. Xtend is just BCAAs and two other things, while ON's Whey has 120 calories with 24 grams of protein, in addition to a ton of other amino acids.

See. You do get a lot from Protein by itself. But with the added amount from BCAA's speeds up recovery as well. I asked you to post that because I wasn't 100% sure of every one. Either way BCAA's are beneficial. Just more so to others.

I honestly know very very little about amino acids. I just knew ON's had a good amount of them. At least, they look like a good amount to me...

The BCAAs are definitely there though, and thats comforting.

In physics,
Power = Work / Time

Substitution dictates:
Knowledge = Work / Money

Solve for Money which = Success:
Money = Success = Work / Knowledge

Thus, success is determined by the amount of work you put in so long as you maintain a certain level of knowledge :)
