after reading that bcaa's thread i felt really sorry for the guy he probably spent some good money on all that and its body building terms is not gonna get much out of it as results go.

So any newbies coming into here don't buy anything from gnc, there are alot of supplement shops where they specialize in body building and if you do need a product they can help, will be alot cheaper, probably offer a discount for you and wont rip you off.

do yourself a favor. thats why chris made this forum to keep those who are new to make mistake in spending money on supplements which don't work or are over priced.

it's true that you should stay away from GNC, but I shopped there in the begining too... a lot of people do in the begining, so just make sure not to come down on anyone for shopping there

I totally agree. But not all products are overpriced, some are average. Definitely not cheaper though.

Imo, only shop there if you HAVE to.

I say do not go to GNC looking for advice on what to use.It kills me how people jump on the bandwagon just to agree with others.
Yes lots of their stuff is overpriced but you can also get good deals.Go at the first of the month and see what the price is they have a set limit that they are allowed to go down on price.Even when the sell isnt on you can get the sale price most of the time.
As for their own brand not being any good check out their pro performance 100% whey.Its pretty good tasting and has less calories,carbs and sugars than most but not all.Im not saying its the best but its not bad.No I dont work for them lol.I know too much about what they sell for them to hire me haha

LOL, to be truthful, I purchased my ON Whey Gold Standard Double Chocolate and ON Bcaa's from GNC.. Got the discount on the product, due in part that I had the Gold Card..

Now I compared that to shopping online, ordering the same exact products paying the same price. But when you add in the shipping and stuff.. Because I was not ordering enough to get free shipping.. I was more cost effective for me to buy the products from the store.. You need to be selective and know what you want before you get sucked into buy garbage from the salesman..

i the only time I go to GNC is if I have to, i mean if they have the sale items and that combined with the gold card the prices can be comparable. But obviously I hate that they always try to push the most expensive products. Yeah right like I'm gonna stand there next to some pencil neck kid trying to push me half assed products. Although one of my buddies that lifts at the Civ with me works at a GNC, but he's straight up about everything, even he buys some of his stuff of the net.

hey kaboom i have a 15yo son who wants to bulk. he is real lean and plays soccer so he runs 6-8miles a day. real fast metabolism. i told i would ask the guys at bbd for advise.

I think the point should be "Dont shop GNC for advice on which supp to buy."
Do your research on products outside of the store before you go to purchase a supp.
Most businesses like GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc. have "salesmen" working there. Most of them are just trying to sell a product and dont necessarily know their ****.
Im not saying that everyone of them dont know jack, but for the most part they dont.
With that being said, I do actually have a good buddy that works at my local GNC that is quite knowledgable.
IMO its perfectly fine to purchase products whereever you want to, as long as you are educated on what you are purchasing first.
Ive actually gotten some pretty good deals at my GNC. Most of the time they will come as close to matching online pricing for me as possible. Hell my buddy even gave me a free membership, didnt even have to pay the $15.

Thats gonna be hard with him running and being active so much but thats a good thing.Since we are in a thread about GNC their weight gain is pretty cheap I think the directions say like 3 scoops or something in a drink.My son could never stomach it being so thick so he used alot less than what it called for aand drank a couple a day.That along with proper but heavy eating.He even ate peanut butter and banana sandwiches in the late afternoon.Get lots of lean meat too.He was 96 lbs 14 yrs old at about 5'4 he did this and lifted kinda heavy,not real heavy i personally dont think its good for people around 14 or younger.He turned 15 yesterday and now weighs 109 and looks great actually gained good amount of muscle.

I hate how people bash on GNC like this. The only neggative thing about it is the workers always start with MT crap, but that's what they have to do. If they sell you more expensive supps, they are making more money.

Most GNC stores are like that, others the people actually try and help you with your goals and stuff.

Some of their products are somethings pretty hefty, but you can usually find some good deals there.

I agree on it not being as negative as people see it to be. Mostly because they join the bandwagon. However, I don't belie they help you with your goals. They help you with their goals for the store. For instance, they'll tell you Muscle Tech is good for your goals, which is false and there are other things better for your money.

They do have good deals sometimes but even so, you can find better elsewhere. Imo, if it's convinient for you then I don't see a problem going to GNC if you're knowledged on the supplement you're looking for.

gnc is easier than going on the internet and waiting 2 day for something you might not even ordered. And if you have a gold card its really cheap than anywhere no lie.
