Hey guys BCAA's have been on my mind for such a long time. When to take, when to take?
I just purchased capsule BCAA's today without knowing too much about them. They had some type of sale going in GNC, buy one get next item half off so I decided to buy the BCAA's I've been wanting all this time.

Anyways I got this product, 'Branched Chain Amino Acids 1800' GNC's, 480 softgel capsules, but 1 serving being six capsules (lol). Well here is 1 servings worth (6 capsules) :
Vitamin E - 12 IU
L-Leucine - 900 mg
L-Isoleucine - 630 mg
L-Valine - 270 mg

So what I'm looking to find is information to when and how much to take this product. This is my first time taking BCAA products and I have no idea how I should have the it for my intake. The bottle directions say :
"As a dietary supplement, take six capsules daily, either in the morning, evening or between meals on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Use in conjunction with your strenuous exercise program."
Is this telling me to take 6 capsules all at once? Also only on an empty stomach? or can be okay after a meal too?

And as I've seen in posts, I've seen some write the best time to take BCAA's is before and after workouts, during exercise, and/or before bedtime. Mine is of course in capsules so I really don't see how I would be taking them during exercise. What would be the ideal time to take these capsules? One of the GNC employee's had also actually told me he read a bit about BCAA's somewhere and said that if you wanted the recommended results, you should take about 16-24 capsules of this products worth of BCAA's. Now this is $54.99, and that intake of pills is extremely insane. I'm really clueless of how much to take and when to take it. And if powder form is the best way to go for BCAA's? Help is appreciated.

Heres a picture of the product :

Holy ****, talk about ripped off. haha
If you want to get the best results with your BCAA's you're going to have to be taking a lot of it. Pre, during, and post-work out. Like quinn said, BCAA's will really help with recovery. They are very important as your body does not make these essential amino acids.
You should try Xtend by Scivation, I hear they are really good. Or Optimum Nutrition's BCAA 5000. Both very good products.

I, however, don't use BCAAs, as they are not in my budget. =[

Oh, how much doses of the BCAA's are in 1 capsule of your product QuinnBW?
And I'm guessing I did get ripped off, but this is 480 capsule bottle and this bottle is huge, the biggest supplement capsule bottle I've ever seen, I was actually surprized when I first saw the size of the bottle. I'll upload a picture of the product so you can just get a idea.

Let's look at Optimum's BCAA 1000 with 400 capsules.
It has 1 gram of BCAA in each serving, which is 2 capsules. Which means 200 servings for 200 total grams of BCAA just for $21.79.
Yours, however, has 1.8 grams of BCAAs for 6 capsules. That's 80 servings for a total of 144 grams of BCAAs for $43.99. Damn.

This is MG's not Grams for mine. So its 1800 mg's not 1800 grams. I guess that makes it even less? are you freaking kidding me, these pills are big as ****. How big can the optimum's BCAA 1000 be if its only 2 capsules per serving? These pills for mine are already huge. Theirs must be gigantic then. Lol.

1000 mg is equal to one gram. I put them into grams so it was easier to calculate without all those 0's.
I'm not sure how big the capsules are, as I don't use them. But I can swallow pretty big pills anyway.

I just did the math, my product is about 12 cents more expensive for one serving compared to the Optimum's. But that is my product is porportioned differently with each BCAA's in 1 serving. And I don't know if this is true, but I heard that GNC's BCAA product is well porportioned for the amount of each BCAA the body needs. As you can see GNC has 900 mg, 630 mg, and 270 mg of each BCAA in one serving where as Optimum's has 500, 250, 250, where the last two BCAA's (L-isoleucne and L-Valine) are the same. But what do I know if that information is true.
Well it's already bought, and I'll just keep it for this time. Any thoughts of the other part of my post?

You should read up more on BCAA's. It's a ratio of 2 to 1 to 1 from leucine, iso-leucine, and valine. It's been proven to be effective. Just don't buy from GNC. Trust me. I would choose ON ANYDAY over anything by GNC. DON'T listen to the people that work at GNC, they just want you to fall for their products. Just listen to the people from this dungeon.

you will not get any gains with these products, gnc people just ripped you off, if it makes you feel better about 2 years ago they did it to me, i trusted them too.

and like everyone above said all them supplements including the bcaa's you can get lots cheaper which do the same thing.

Also keep in mind, there are amino acids in protein. So you're also getting them with the protein you eat/drink. Find the cheapest most effective one, and you're good.

Bro. Read the posts. aznsyndicate specifically said it's proven to work.

GNC is a scam, either take our word or find out the hard way. Which would be wasting your money and listening to what they think which products you should take.

it is proven to wortk, true, but you amino acids there is enough for your daily need in the protein.

Yeah I know. But I'm here to learn about taking pure BCAA's only and about the intake and doses. I'll just do some research on my own asking around my gym. Thanks though.

Yes I know, but I'm looking to get better results and trying by trial and error still. I happen to be at the GNC today and the guy told me a bit of what BCAA's do. And the results of BCAA's was exactly what I wanted, and I just said, lets give it a try and bought them. I workout intense every session 4 days a week split. I'm looking to gain mass, and from all that intense workouts, I sweat way too much, and get sore usually for the next 2 days, if not for the next 3-5 days. And seeing this BCAA just tempted me to try it out. Was looking for that little something extra you know? I think BCAA's will do my good for the next month or so I will be using them. And if not, I'll lay off on it. But thanks for your thought on trying to help me.

they work man, the only thing they are saying about scamming is GNC... GNC overprices, you do get amino acids in protein true, but some like argenine you need to get elsewhere

I disagree. The body doesn't get these amino acids throughout the day in high quantities. The only way they become useful is when taken in a somewhat higher quantity.

The body needs Essential amino acids to keep the body in good supply. This is done by your diet and supplementing.

I'm just saying, I don't think it's a waste of money at all. For some BCAAs could be very effective. Which, in your case could be you ikzn.

In physics,
Power = Work / Time

Substitution dictates:
Knowledge = Work / Money

Solve for Money which = Success:
Money = Success = Work / Knowledge

Thus, success is determined by the amount of work you put in so long as you maintain a certain level of knowledge :)

Yeah, well I'm not concerned about the money issue now. I realize I got over priced. I just want to learn about this damn BCAA. I guess I'll just have to take it and see when its best for me which will take months to do to find out.
