Man you people take alot of supplements, are you sure all that is necessary?

I Have a friend, he doesnt take anything but protein & a vitamin & mineral tablet, and just diets well, is very consistant with weights & cardio and he has a very built & lean body, better body then ive seen any in any gym.

I guess his genetics is good, but he is an example where supplements are not needed.

Cosign, but genetics is actually, imo, said and used too often. Genetics could play a big roll in the persons physique, but it generally isn't.

Going on topic, diet over all of those supplements. if you have a strict and healthy diet, you'll realize that all those supplements aren't necessary. Just a thought.

true, diet is the most important aspect of gaining, but its ok to supplement, you should rely on it though.

Tall HardGainer, did u mean you shouldnt rely on supplements?

Ok truth is, ive been training about 1 year more then my mate, he is bigger then me but i am stronger, i can lift more then him with good form, though he is more lean & cut then me, i take alot more supplements then him and he gets better results by a strict diet & consistant training routine.

He got preety built & lean in about 6 months training, anyways all i am saying is he would be an example where supplements are a waste of money.

& i am suprised of how many supplements some of you take, i just think its not needed.

truth is id say the bcaa & ZMA is a waste of money, the rest which you take is ok.

want to loose some weight, consistent training, add a cardio session or something.

vitamin mineral tablet is fine, dont think u need the zma..

good catch I meant your shouldn't rely on it. Has your friend ever taken supplements though? They could benefit him a good amount if he hasn't, but that is completely his choice.

ZMA don't work just stick to the multi, Protien, i still would take the BCAA just for the days you don't work out to slow down the catabolic effects

I don't believe catabolism would occur in one off day.

i know but your muscles don't repain them selves over just one night or day off as you probably know so it will help in speeding up the recovery along with your actual food intake because once you step out of the gym your body needs the outside supplementation to fix the muscle fibers that have tore

Exactly, and that's why they have Glutamine. It speeds up recovery for your next workout. BCAAs include Glutamine, but that particular amino acid taken in a large quantity- faster recovery and reduces catabolic effects.

BCAA is one of the best things you can take chris all yr round...that's rediculas bro, I can't believe you said that. & I can't believe I'm reading what some ppl are saying here...comon fellas get reading

I've been training for 9 years & I'm now 22, BCAAs are definetly in the top 5 supps to add in any stack

ZMA is useless in a stack during a bulk, unless you're dieting or injured. Wanna know why, read up or google it

he wasn't taking the BCAA's in the first place so i it would be a good idea to continue and just to stop the ZMA

i think im just gonna give the ZMA a go for the amount i have an see how that works out......... ive heard from my friends it works good but they play football in college, which i also do... do u think there can be diffrence in the way ZMA works when it comes to people in the field say football vs bodybuilding due to diffrent styles of lifting etc?
