Hi guys im back again with a new thread, this time its directed at those who are new, and want to get the most out of their supps.

Timing is of the essence:

believe it or not your growth and gains can factor in more than just what you take, but when you take it. for example we have all heard of the "anabolic window" (if you havent its that cruicial time after a workout that your body is primed for growth, well you wouldnt be taking nothing during that period, nor would you be taking a slow digesting protien like casein when WPI gets into your system faster.

With that being said heres an idea of what to take and why.

Morning: That time when you have been in starvation for 8+ hours, that being said your body is craving nutrients, and fast. after burning up calories from your last meal and some fats, its good to throw healthy fats into your body aswell as complex and simple carbs. best to get a good WPI, some eggs, and some oatmeal with honey to really kick start your day, also adding in a multi wouldnt hurt.

Pre-workout: some people find that creatine gets into their system faster than others, rule of thumb is to allow 3-45mins for it to completely get into your muscles, same rule with the NO product, one thing that your going to want to add is BCAAs, both before and after your workout. BCAAs ingredients play a crucial role in muscle growth and recovery and for both before and after your workout its best to saturate your body with it to allow for ample sustenance. during the workout if you cant get ahold of a musashi P30 drink or something like that, find a good water based protein like syntrax nectar, being water based and fruit juice flavored it doesnt go down as badly and curdle in your stomach.

Before bed: studies have shown that humans sleep to rest, and repair muscle etc etc, so that in itself makes it a perfect opportunity to supplement it up to grow through the night, start by having another multi (yes another multi), a all rounded protein shake (WPI, WPC, casein), some BCAAs, (with the protein shake add some flaxseed oil and some hmb powder to slow digestion and protect your muscles) and to eat, something dairy like cheese or yogurt, my favorite (dont laugh) is a peanut butter sandwich with cheese.

So there you go, hopefully its of some use and keep in mind that if you time you supplement regime you can maximise the effectiveness of your arsenal.

scratch ya

great post, here are some reps for a good post. BTW the only thing I would suggest is to not take a multi twice a day because some of the vitamins are not water soluable and take longer to digest, with this being said it actually puts a strain on the kidneys (I have actually done it and felt the effects of it). I would also mention that its not smart to take creatine and NO together preworkout since the receptors conflict, rather NO before and creatine after. If not taking a no product then 1 serving before hand and 1 post. Other than that, great post, and hope they make it a sticky.

For beginners, take things slow and record everything you do, and get in the habit of doing so..

i'm confused when it comes to preworkout sups. most of these preworkout no powders tell you to take on an empty stomach 20 minutes prior to lifting, which is when you're supposed to take your protein, so should i take the no first and give it time to get absorbed and then take the protein or vis versa

Protein shake one hour before. Prework out 30-15mins before. Thats what i do and it works wonders for me:)

yeah, for me its protein shake 1 hour before workout, then preworkout supps 30-15 minutes before depending on the supp, like mm1 it works great for me.

Please do list your supps, we can get you going on the right way and timing.

I always wondered about taking vitamins before bed. If your body is resting, rebuilding, and growing shouldn't it have the nutrients that it needs to do all this.

absolutely, some people prefer to take a multi before bed instead of in the morning with breakfast, its a personal preference, both ways are good, personally I take mine in the am, to give me a good vitamin rush in the morning, I do however take BCAA's, vitamin c, flaxseed oil and a casein protein shake before bed to aid in recovery.
