Hey guys. Jason here, and I've been training for about 11 years now. I've gone from being 5'11" and 135lbs benching 95lbs at 16 to being 6'2", 217lbs and benching 225+ (not that great) at 27. I am looking to put on some lean mass with a good diet, some cardio and my martial arts training also with weights. Do you guys feel that this is the best or one of the best protein shakes out there right now?
Thanks

Optimum Nutrition 100% whey protein is the best out there.
However, I do think that isopure is a pretty good protein shake.

Cosign, most people on here will say ON, but it's your choice- find the shake that you think work/tastes best!

I have always used Isopure products as my main source of protien. If you buy online and in bulk, it is much more affordable

Both are good proteins, but I prefer ON, and like mentioned Isopure tends to be more expensive. I will buy Isopure RTD's when I am out and forgot to grab a shake because its a nice change, but ON 100% Whey Gold Standard or ON ProComplex is great!...actually anything by ON is great lol, can't go wrong with them imo.

You need to do a little research before you jumb on the bandwagon like everyone else "assuming" Opt Nut whey is the best. It was a decent whey protien drink for the price at one time. Isopure is way superior because it is all Isolate protien and no concentrate. It is way superior to any concentrated whey drink.

I apologize. I think I came off wrong. Sorry about that.
The think is the isopure is a better protien because it is all isolate. It is the fastest absorping protien behind the hydroslized (spelled it wrong) and that other one everyone is talking about. I forgot the name. The Opt protien is a mixture of concentrate and isolate and whey peptides. The Isopure will be absorbed faster but, for the price difference I see why everyone sticks to other protien sorces.

No problem. But I agree with you that Isolate is better. Now I have to do some further research but a buddy of mine was telling me that a study was done showing no difference from whey and Isolate absorbtion. He was half drunk at the time but I will look into it for you guys. Until then IMO Isolate is better.

their is really no point in not having carbs, u really need them to have energy to be able to workout hard, unless u are already taking in alot of carbs in your diet, why waste the money when u can get a cheaper protein with just as much protein and more carbs in it.

Yeah but if you buy a protein with a good amount of carbs that may make it more difficult with someone on a strict diet. At least if you take a protein lik ON or other whey protein that usualy has only 2-3 g of carbs, it allows you to contol you carb intake. You may just want a protein shake for the protein, but how can you do that with carbs in the powder. It just seems like more work to me.

I don't think isopure is all that great, its an ion exchange isolate, I prefer microfiltered isolates because they have a higher percentage protein.

Isopure is great for those people cutting down for competition though, where as when its close to the show and they eliminate almost all carbs, in this case it becomes a great shake where they can get an excess of protein to counter effect not having the carbs, so that the extra protein is acting as a source of energy to be burned and used instead of the carb. Like I stated before, it depends on what your goals are. I know a lot of guys who use isopure before contests because there are no carbs.
